  1. saw a bright beacon of a bodega amongst the washed out storefronts from afar on a crisp Sunday afternoon in the BK (not 'Yonce though)…and this is no ordinary corner store.

strolled in here to get Vitamin Water before an Elite Event at 2 Duck Goose. ended up walking out with copious amounts of candy stuffed in my pockets. no i didn't steal it, though the pockets on my jacket were looking 5 months pregnant. see kids even when you don't eat the candy you still come off looking like a fatty. reese's my obeeeses! zzz

so what is Park Slope Tobacco Shop Plus?
a bodega, candy, convenience goods, coffee, tobacco shop in the vast retail emptiness that is 4th Avenue around Gowanus.

it's a fairly tight retail space packed with a variety store goods–not OVERLY packed though. the space remains fairly clean aisle with bright light and a very clean interior for a convenience-sque store. either the store is new or the owner/s understand clean consumer experiences means repeat customers. as you enter the shop there's a variety of tobacco, cigarette, vape, etc. goods in the front windows. lots of signage outside. on the left is candy, the register / counter. behind the counter is your typical display of cigarettes, travel size meds, sin category items like condoms, and other items that would be easy to steal! counter stretches to the back of the store…didn't not explore that area…Hernando De Soto I am not. Look him up kids if you don't know said explorer who doubled as a conquistador in the 1500s!

on the right, immediate is all those snacky eats like Kind bars, etc. past that is the wall of refrigerator display units with the colas, juices, sugary dranks, and beer i assume. there are shelves/displays of convenience/quick/processed food items in the middle to back of the store.

back to the candy. a small sized display from floor to counter height. brightly lit. the SWEET goods area must be dusted and refreshed regularly because they don't have that typical layer of dust/soot that most open-area candy shelves do at bodega spots. kudos to this store for doing that simple yet eye-catching task. clean, new candy trumps dusty, new candy. they had a variety of mints, gums, the usual suspects in terms of domestic U.S. candies (Skittles, Starburst etc.), Kinder chocolate products, knock-off Kinder eggs, Crunchie bars, etc. a nice range of junky-esque foods. i'll keep going back to this: well-lit retail displays move product. place is awesome for keeping that area and most of the store spotless. and that's hard in any part of NYC when soot, dust, vehicle exhaust, etc. roll in whenever the door is open.

anyway this is NOT a review to make this corner store a destination. however if i lived in this area or were on 4th Ave, this would probably become my bodega regular or stop-in spot. clean, bright, variety of stuff i eat, etc. and the staff there were cool (by "cool" i mean they didn't throw shade my way) with my randomly  shooting tons of photos in-store before even buying anything.

so $10 of processed foods: GOOD BUY…err or that moment in the review where i don't say GOODBYE…

drops mic cause it ain't gonna get dirty at this place Yo!

    i out!

    zzzz
