Came here with a friend for lunch today. Seriously, awesome. Never had Senegalese food, so can't speak to its authenticity, but it was delicious. Both of us had the Theibu Djen, fish stewed in a rich tomato sacue with eggplant, carrots, cassava and white cabbage, served with couscous rice. The couscous rice was cooked with some sort of tomato paste base and was a little spicy. The stewish part was very flavorful and pretty spicy. They had these ridiculously enormous pieces of cassava, carrot and cabbage as well. Yum…so good. The only slightly disappointing thing was the piece of fish, which while tasty, was a little cold, though the rest of the plate was warm. Somewhat odd. Price was reasonable, for the gargantuan amount of food that was served (10 bucks). The portions really do comfortably feed two people. I had just burned about 5 million calories in bikram yoga that day so was ridiculously hungry, but even so, I just finished the plate.
Service was alright, but we did have to ask them for water, since they didn't bring it out to us in the beginning.
Oh, another feature of this restaurant is the Senegalese TV that's being played. I got to see/hear French dubbed Family Matters! Awesome.
