  1. I'm not a coffee snob but I believe I have distinct preferences in my coffee.

As someone who travels frequently, I seek local coffee roasters……roasters with passion, a mission, a unique service environment…..I found that with here on Jay Street.

The service was impeccable, product quality superb amd the available options a little overwhelming.

The interior of the shop welcomes all…provides an eclectic camaraderie of crew and guests…..

I stay in Brooklyn when traveling into NYC….I now have discovered my warm and cozy respite.

    Well done!

  2. Did some work here while waiting for my cousin. Ample outlets and a fair amount of open seating. Wi-Fi was reliable and I got a simple coffee.

If you're looking for ambiance, this… isn't really the place to find it. This isn't some dark and brooding coffee spot. It's got a 1950's industrial vibe to it, like you were at a butcher's shop. Aaah maybe that's not it.. but the tiling is cool! If you're trying to find something different from the dark and dim vibes of Starbucks and other typical coffee shops, check this place out!

I got myself a simple green tea, so I can't attest to the coffee, but Brooklyn Roasting Company was a great place to do work and chill. Will definitely be back if I'm in the area and need to do work!

  3. I've been off coffee for the past 6 months (clap clap). I miss it EVERYDAY! So my hot drink of choice is hot chocolate made w/ almond milk. I didn't like the way it was made…. way to sweet.

However for all you Dough doughnut lovers they do carry a mix of the tasteful flavors. Makes the trip worth it if you love a good Dough pastry.

  4. A little coffee shop near the Brooklyn Navy Yard area which is rapidly becoming more and more gentrified. The exterior is almost all glass which gives the impression of a very spacious room and you get a good view of the industrial sector. For seating, they have a bar, some booths and some very VERY low coffee tables. I much prefer traditional seating, its just more practical.

I had an iced latte, which was good, but the real kicker that makes this place worth coming to over other coffee shops is that they stock doughnuts from Dough. Dough is another local business, a doughnut shop whose doughnuts are OFF THE HOOK. Obviously the selection isn't as great as opposed to just going to Dough (which isn't all that far) but the convenience can't be beat.

Service was fast and friendly, but just a little distracted. They forgot my doughnut at first, and I was 1 of 2 customers at the time so its not like there was a lot going on. Pricing is no more than what you would pay at a Starbucks.

Final verdict: Great location, great doughnuts, good coffee, great view. Would come again.

  5. Great coffee, had a cappucino perhaps even a bit too strong for my taste. However, i had one of the cranberry muffins and that was reall awesome.
The muffin tasted fresh and it went welk to the fact i did not add sugar to my coffee. As for price expect to pay manhattan prices.

  6. This place is in my neighborhood therefore it only takes me a few hops and a skip to arrive, so I have checked in here a few times. Though I am not the biggest coffee drinker unless in dire need, they have fresh squeezed grapefruit juice that I was at one point addicted to (getting grapefruit juice at a coffee spot? I know, I know) and they also have a great egg sandwich.

But that's beside the point and not the reason for this review. My main reason for reviewing is to send a SOS and alert them to move faster in the morning or any time of day for that matter. I will never understand why these people move so damn slow as if people aren't on their way to a place of importance.. like maybe WORK?! I understand you want to be nice and create a "Brooklyn Roasting Company experience" but come on, do you not realize that some people are nicer AFTER they have had their coffee? No one wants to hear stories about where the beans came from or what you can suggest because in reality when people have places to go, there is only one type of coffee that they are interested in, and they may want to share it with you (people taking orders) and its called a large STFU.

  7. I usually avoid these kind of contrived hipster coffee shops but this location is convenient to the Navy Yard and Steiner Studios. Coffee was pretty good and comfortable booths to sit at.

  8. Solid coffee shop with a thoroughly bright atmosphere. I especially enjoy the bacon egg salad breakfast sandwich they have; it is quite the special treat!
