Went here for the first time yesterday. The line was long and I thought about bailing but I smelled the food and was enticed. As I was waiting the girl who takes the orders announced that they may not have enough food to feed the throngs amassed in front of the truck on 47th and Park. I was worried that I waited for nothing but soon entered the nirvana that is Wing'nit!
I got up and ordered a dozen of their spiciest honey chipotle grilled wings and an order of tater tots. The girl taking the orders could win a contest for hottest girl on any NYC truck hands down as was so gracious and nice that I forgot about the length of the line or how long the food took. I even took the news that the tater tots were 86ed and had to settle for fried rice which I would never have ordered.
Got back to the office and I was in love. The grilled wings were crisp on the outside but not overdone. The juicy plump wings were in a word orgasmic. The fried rice was nothing special until I added the honey chipotle sauce. That sauce was hotter than I expected which is always a nice surprise to me. My buddy got the chicken sandwich with apricot maple whisky sauce, mac and cheese, and six buffalo wings. He was thrilled and said it was worth the wait. His eyes are bigger than his stomach so he gave me three of his buffalo wings which were very good. $11.50 for a dozen wings. They were a little disorganized but I think this truck is a winner. Hopefully when I see them next they will have enough food for the crowds they drew.
