Tropical grill is a very nice looking lounge/restaurant. Nice tables for the restaurant area and plush looking couches. I ordered the egusi and pounded yam with a side of plantains. The food was really good, however compared to most African restaurants, the portions are not as big for the price. They are not tiny portions, but they could stand to be a little bigger. We ordered take out, it was only 3:30 pm and they already had the strobe lights going lol, it would be a bit awkward eating at 4pm with strobe lights. Another thing that threw me off, is that one of the items I wanted (puff-puff), was not available. Now this is very typical of African restaurants but still no slack on this, if you can not consistently have an item, it should not be on your menu. Lastly, before we actually picked it up, we attempted to call for their "delivery" service. I called, made my order and waited for a total, she then told me she would have to call the car service to find out how much they would charge then she would call me back. LOL, so basically they do NOT have delivery, they will make you pay for a cab as well as the food, we weren't willing to have an additional 10-15 bucks tacked on to our tab. All in all, great food spot, customer service is eh, not terrible. I will definitely check it out for dine-in and possibly one of their club nights.
