They will always be my #1 bakery/pastry shop.
I have never been disappointed with any order I have ever placed.
We love the fruit tart that comes with a hard crust coated in milk chocolate. The fruit is always fresh and the custard cream filling isn't too sweet-perfectly balanced.
I recently ordered 48 cupcakes-24 vanilla, 24 chocolate & I asked for the buttercream frosting to be 16 red, 16, yellow, & 16 blue. THEY NAILED IT-the colors were perfect for my daughter's super hero themed birthday. Every single cupcake was moist and absolutely delicious. Everyone asked where I got them from and I replied :"Tasty Pastry, of course".
Amazing customer service, top notch ingredients, quality deserts.
I had a mini-panic attack when I walked in on Mother's day morning, and didn't see any canoli's in the case……oh….they make them FRESH! when you order them….that makes sense. No exaggeration, these are the best things I've ever eaten anywhere in the world. Nice touch, with the small candies on each end. Just pleasant people, and wonderful food.
Amazing! Maybe it's that I'm used to Manhattan prices for mediocre pastries, but this place rocks. They have such a wide selection of cakes, cupcakes, cookies, etc. They even have a sugar-free section. It can get very very crowded here where you have to take a number, but it's worth it. My friend and I got a lemon chiffon cake for $10 and it was amazing. It will probably last us a week given its size. Slices of cake are $3, and they have many gingerbread houses and packages of cookies for sale, which make perfect gifts. They also have coffee drinks. I tried the roasted marshmallow flavored coffee and the egg nog latte. Delicious.
As for seating, there are only 4 seats along a very narrow bar in the front. It's a take-out place. Check it out if you're in the area. You'll want to buy everything.
Uhmm, yeah? Seriously, this place takes the cake (see what I did there?) when it comes to Italian baked goodies and they don't skimp. They've got all your traditionals like rainbow cookies, Napoleans, butter cookies and more – all quite tasty. But to top that off, they've got extras like tartufo, gelato, spumoni (rivals L&B's) and a tiramisu made with actual liquor instead of crap flavoring. Oh and olive bread that actually – get this – tastes like there's olives inside. Original recipes throughout and they adhere to them. Did I mention everything's super tasty?
The only annoying thing is I like to browse before buying and really don't need three girls asking me in a two minute period if I need help. But I figure that comes from the top down to make sure no one's waiting around for service.
Good luck getting here by subway. It's quite the long walk from the nearest stop or you can grab the bus and get dropped off several blocks away. Yeah, a bit of a hike but totally worth it if you're looking for a real throwback Brooklyn-Italian style bakery treat.
After coming here you'll probably need a drink or two since it's absolute mayhem. You know you're in for it when you walk in and have to take a number. They have a large selection of pastries of all kinds but specialize in Italian sweets. The pastries we bought were all very good however the experience coming here is enough to not want to return unless it's the dead of winter. The staff were grouchy and unpleasant, the other patrons were pushing us and trying to get out the door was a nightmare. Plus, $12 for 6 pastries isn't bad at all. Oh well…
Great Italian (Sicilian) owned pastry shop. They have Cannoli cake and lemon cake. Lots of yummy pastries and cookies. Try their mini Apple turnovers.
I really love Tasty Pastry. It's great to know when I feel guilty for having that mini cannoli, I can just cross the street to St. Bernadette and pray for my glutton ways.
Tasty has gotten a face lift recently, and it is damn sexy. The overall appeal is very simple – I gotta have it! The cookies, the cakes, the mini pastries – did I say the cookies?! There hasn't been anything I didn't like from Tasty Pastry yet.
Granted, if it's the holidays, this place will get a little outta control with the line, but they do have a ticket number system to keep the order and peace, because you need that semolina bread or Christmas is RUINED.
All the ladies that have helped me over the counter are really pleasant; I mean, who wouldn't be working here though, right?
I might just have to get a mini cake to celebrate something just because – like, it's Saturday or something…yeah…that sounds good!
By my neighborhood. Went there for a coffee and angle wing in a cold Saturday. U will be amazed by how many different pastries. They are delish and cheap 😉
