  1. Tried their macarons only. They are good, but nothing special. $2.5 each, which is sorta pricy for macarons like these, because 1) their sizes vary a lot, some bigger and some much smaller, and 2) the cookies of some macarons are broken.
I did a box of 6: caramel, green tea, red velvet, lavender, nutella, and white chocolate cherry (not so much white choco or cherry flavors).

The nice thing is they mark the calorie counts for each of the macarons, so if you are concerned about weight, choose the one with the lowest calories (but still, it's 81 per piece of the lavender).

  2. Great flavors, great customer service!

Cookies and cream, pistachio, passsionfruit, mint, peanut butter, Nutella, pistachio, caramel, the lists goes on!

I really like the eclectic flavors and the pretty colors they use (although the colors don't always portray the flavors). I came in right before they were closing with 1000 questions and the girl behind the counter answered them all – thanks!

To be honest I didn't try every macaron I got (me vs. 12 of them) but I concluded that these were the best I've tasted in NYC.

  3. This place is near my girlfriends' apartment in Kips Bay. When I'm there playing Monopoly, or dancing on the fire escape and craving a cookie, this is the go-to spot in the neighborhood.

Woops! is a small bake shop with just a couple tables and chairs, but they have so much on their menu. They offer macarons, gelato, cookies, rugelach, croissants, brownies, etc.-oh my goodness! The cookies are quite large and offered in a many varieties, but I only tried two: the chocolate-chip walnut, and the double-chocolate chocolate chip. Both of these 1/3 pound cookies were sweet, more moist than dry, and still warm from the oven.

Don't worry, if your pastry isn't warm, they'll offer to heat it up for you. Then you're able to enjoy that gooey, melted chocolate the way it was intended. Unlike the Levain cookies, these were fully cooked. It's not a bad thing, just different.

I haven't had the pleasure of sampling the other pastries here, or the coffee, but I'm in the area often enough that this is sure to happen in the near future. I did try the Captain Crunch gelato flavor- the server was really pushing it- and it wasn't bad. Not my favorite flavor I've ever encountered, but definitely better than it sounded.

  4. Thankfully, I'm guessing the owner changed. Not sure, but I'm glad the gelato from Mia chef gelateria no longer exists, because it used to be abysmal before. The gelato that's made now is amazing. The pistachio gelato was phenomenal and I finally found a place with similar quality gelato to some of the best I had in Italy.

  5. A solid new bakery in Kips Bay, Woops! is definitely a welcome addition to the area. There are numerous locations of this bakery in malls and in other states but the Brooklyn Woops! has become fairly popular so I am happy that they are now branching out into Manhattan.

Objectively speaking the macarons are probably the best thing here. A raspberry one I got was very well done, filled with a nice housemade jam. It was a bit sweet for my liking, however.

But I have to say of everything I tried, the White Chocolate Coconut Pecan cookie was by far the best. It really is as good as the below reviews say and I will come here again just for that.

The Red Velvet cookie was good if you like eating a crazy crossbreed of chocolate cake, cookie, and cream cheese. It was actually not as overwhelming as I thought it would be and I enjoyed it but no where near as much as the white chocolate cookie. They also do all baking on premises which really helps with the freshness of product.

So, while nothing really blew my mind except the white chocolate pecan cookie, I have to say this is an above-average bakeshop even if it is a chain, especially for Kips Bay.

  6. Yo, get ya cookies here!

Woops! Bakeshop is really small. They only have one chairs and one table. But back in the shop, there was a bakery place. I guess that where all those classes happen?

The people who worked there was really nice, and introduced all those giant cookies to me.
I was pumped when she said spice cinnamon and peanut butter. I got home and prepared for my breakfast for next day.

Next day breakfast is an angle.
Both are delicious and I just could not finish it all.
Anyway, it's good n I will come back

  7. This is a cute little coffee shop, there are hardly 5 tables here. They sell macaroons and some really good gelato. But I love their coffee, they make a mean espresso. A friend lives close by, so I usually pick up an espresso macchiato when I am in the neighborhood.

I am not a massive fan of their macaroons but absolutely love their gelato flavors, they have some unusual flavors like caption crunch etc… Which is absolutely delicious. I have also seen them have some gelato making workshops in the back a few times I was there. I think they use actual fruit and nuts while making their gelato, and I love that, I don't know too many people who are big fans of the neon pink strawberry flavored gelato so this is good.

The service has been consistently great, always friendly, always accommodating. The few times we have actually sat there, it's been pretty pleasant with the usual free wi fi etc.. I don't know if you would want to do school work or any type of work here because it's tiny, might be too much when it's busy. Go for the gelato and expresso if you are in the neighborhood.

  8. Super cute bake shop! Passed by here with my friend after eating lunch. She was in need of an iced coffee, and I was in need of something sweet. Which I'm always in need of. I ordered an iced chai, which was VERY yummy, and a bite-sized brownie. Bite-sized brownie was $1.25, deal of the day for NYC. My drink was about $5 (upcharge for almond milk) and my friends iced coffee was $3.

The young woman working when we visited was awesome, very sweet and friendly. Seeing that I am very obviously with child, she wished me well and good luck and told me about her two children (twins). Plus, she let me use the bathroom – so THANK YOU for that and my pregnant lady bladder, and the bathroom was very clean! Another plus. Next time I am by this area where my friends apartment is, I will be sure to return.
