To the city that just can't get enough veggies, this place is a gem.
I love one of their specials– the quinoa artichoke burger, so much, that I have had it at least 3 of 5 times I've eaten at Westville (do they know I'm coming and put it on the menu?? I'm not sure, but i'd be quite disappointed if it wasn't a special one night when I walked in… please just add it to the regular lineup menu?!)
I always ask to sub out the onion salad it comes with, with a market side. Favorites have been the cauliflower with tahini sauce (YUM!!) and the curry chickpeas (also surprising YUM!!! but they didn't have this option tonight, so I branched out for the cauli and was quite happy indeed.)
I love the market plate but recommend asking the server for guidance, as some of the veggies are honestly less exciting than others and servers always have great insight into best seasonal items, etc.
The secret is out, so it can be tough to land a seat during peak hours, but it's for a good reason, this place is a solid staple for any neighborhood.
Excellent veggies, and your choices of healthy and indulgent food options. We had the beets, the marinated tofu (dreamy, heavenly deliciousness), sweet potato fries & artichokes (YUM!!). I ended up getting the cast iron turkey burger, which was OH-SO-GOOD. This is a tried and true place to add to your restaurant list, and I use to frequent their hudson location (which is also as good).
I've been going to this Westville for years and it's always a solid meal.
This generally tends to be my after happy hour spot and they have great burgers and stuff for those after happy hour (aka drunken) cravings.
I love that the ingredients are so fresh
here too!
What knocked off the last star was the last time I was there. My friend ordered a grilled cheese (which she loved) but I wanted something lighter so I ordered the summer kale and quinoa salad with grilled chicken. It was really tasty but I was hungry and for 19 dollars (that's right, after adding chicken to the salad it came to 19 dollars) I kind of thought I'd be full afterwards. I wasn't. I actually had to grab a slice an hour later. Wth.
There was just so much kale and so little of everything else. It was like eating a heaping plate of raw unseasoned and undressed kale. I know kale is like the best thing since sliced bread and sorry to all my kale t-shirt wearers but straight up kale is not a meal. I'm health conscious but…. come on.
I'll be back again but next time I'll stay away from the summer salad.
This is now the 2nd Westville I've been to. This one is a few blocks away from my job and it's smaller than the Hudson Street location. Disclaimer: I've only had lunch here. I'm not aware of the breakfast or dinner options.
The lunch menu options I'd say cater to vegans which is a good thing because it's usually the opposite when going out with friends for lunch. There is out door seating options for the nice weather. I ordered a stir fry bowl which was very good and added blackened salmon strips. The portions were very large for lunch and the price matched. I believe we paid $16 or $17 each for our bowls and it was so much because of the protein we added. So if you are not on a budget for lunch this is your place. It does get very crowded during lunch time (1pm – 2pm) so be prepared to wait a few minutes for your seats. The wait was not long at all we were very happy with the staff and service. I just wish it was as big as one of the other locations. But for a chain I'd say this place is A-ONE! I'm pretty sure I will return here with my coworkers for some delicious veggie options.
After travelling for most of the morning I was looking for a meal that was both satisfying and light. Westville was the perfect match.
I had the market plate with beets, plantains, oyster mushrooms, and brussel sprouts. Each item was prepared perfectly cooked and seasoned. My personal favorite were the oyster mushrooms in chimichurri sauce.
The mint lemonade is super refreshing too. You can add prosecco in it too for a few extra bucks :). Either way I'd order it again!
Although this place seems very much plant focused, there are options for meat eaters. Honestly though, the vegetables are so delicious and filling that I don't even think about ordering anything else!
Yum!! Ordered here for lunch one day and it was delicious. I got the salmon salad (can't remember the exact name) with avocado and the vinaigrette dressing on the side. I also shared the mac & cheese app with my friend. The salad tasted very fresh, the mint was a nice touch, I was afraid it would be too overpowering, but it's not. Salmon was cooked just the way I like it – a little pink on the inside. It was full of melt-in-your-mouth goodness. Oh and I can't forget the mac & cheese; it was heavenly! I savored every bite, the smoked gouda really made it creamy and cheesy.
Delivery time was pretty decent. The only complaint I have is that they don't deliver before 9th ave or above 27th street. We were located on 30th street and 10th ave – just a couple of streets above where their cut off was! We ended up putting an address on the corner of 27th and 10th ave, so we could meet the delivery guy there. I'm hoping as the Hudson Yards area develops, they will extend their range.
Also, something weird happened. They charge $10 for delivery, but the delivery guy said he doesn't get any of that. We had to tip on top of that. I thought that was a bit odd. I would hope if they're charging a $10 delivery fee that they're giving some of that to the delivery guy. That's not cheap at all.
Overall, will order from here again. Food was delicious!
It was nice that my husband and I walked in at 12:30 and were able to get a table for Saturday brunch.
He ordered the Chicken and waffles. Chicken was good, but waffle could be better. The waffle here is dense. We like our waffles light , airy with a outer crispy.
I ordered the challah french toast. I was concerned it wasn't cooked all the way, it was still mushy. The waitress took it back no problem. We think they took what was on my plate and cooked it again. It was a little better, but I couldn't eat half of it because it was mushy. Maybe some people like their french toast this way. But because I'm pregnant, it is important that my food is cooked fully.
Service was really nice. Prices are reasonable.
Came here for brunch on a Sunday around 1pm. Seated quickly on the patio. There are six two tops outside and shaded. We ordered the southwest brunch bowl and the turkey burger. Brunch bowl was mediocre. No flavor or spice and rice was soggy. Turkey burger was made with breast meat which I appreciated the healthier cut but it was so dry. Wasn't served with any spread. Patty was thick not seasoned. Bread was dry. It was a let down. Served with a side salad that was just lettuce and two grape tomatoes. Also ordered the sake Bloody Mary and it was also average. Mix was missing some spice and acidity.
