I am a coupon obsessed person. And I hit up two Dunkin Donuts on my way home to get donuts and sandwiches. At this particular location, I got half a dozen for 2.99 (I believe). Not only was there selection significantly smaller than the one in Rego park (didn't have chocolate creme, one of my favorites), the donuts were small, almost dried and shriveled up. Biting into one, it felt stale and didn't have that soft bite where it collapses when you bite into it. Damn, not even worth it if it were free! I rather hit up my local Stop and Shop and get a big, fresh donut (they bake them every morning, and by early evening are either gone or dumped) for .69 cents.
Also, the cashiers don't know how to be patient or coordinate with their other coworkers. One guy was ringing up my order, and told me the price. I nodded and was getting my card from my wallet, when another girl was asking me which 6 donuts I wanted. It's a small space — he and the girl were basically side by side. So I'm telling what donuts I want, and the guy is telling me again how much it costs, waiting for me to pay.
At that point, I told him "I'm telling her which donuts to get" and then he waited. Are you an idiot or something? I'm not trying to run out on you without paying. There wasn't a long line behind me. I think someone came in after I had paid and was walking out. Even if I was holding up an imaginary line, there was another register.
I'm accustomed to the cashier who rings up the transaction usually takes your order. So either I pay before or after, but they get the food, so there isn't an overlap or any confusion. It's stupid for one person demanding payment as another worker is trying to fulfill the order, and you have three people talking over one another. Get organized.
And throw out your donuts if you can't sell them the first day.
