  1. Terrible customer service and DO NOT ORDER THEIR FRIES (unless you want mushy half cooked potatoes, then go nuts).  They are a food truck advertising "baked garlic fries" outside of a bar.  This implies some sort of deliciousness.  Sadly, no deliciousness was found.  They were not fries. They were four giant potato wedges. No garlic. No crunch. The woman in the food truck said they were "healthy fries."  Neat.  Not a big deal, just dont be so bad and rude.  That's all.

  2. I came here when they first relocated to Jersey City to try it out. I got The Classic, which is a 1/4lb Black Bean Burger with melted onions, smashed avocado, and chipotle mayo as well as the rosemary fries. I'm not a vegetarian, and I still thought this food was amazing. The burger was so flavorful and the ingredients blended together really well. The fries are not what you would typically expect as fries, they're really slices of potato that are baked and grilled with rosemary and covered with their ketchup, which I believe is homemade (and also really tasty). To top it all off, the staff are very friendly and I had a nice conversation while I waited.

Definitely worth checking this truck out, whether you're a vegetarian or not!

  3. If a vegan food truck can survive day after day next to taco trucks, schnitzel, and ice cream, etc… then you know it's got to be good.

I've been to The Green Radish two times now and both times I was surprised by how good the food was.

I recommend their quinoa and argula salad with sunflower seeds and the baked falafel burger on foccacia bread. The salad is really huge, so you will definitely be full even though it feels very light in your stomach. The creamy tahini sauce on the falafel burger makes you feel like you're eating mayo, it's that good. And the foccacia bread was soft and had a nice chew to it. Actually, now that I think about it they don't have a lot on their menu – I think at most 3 items and a side dish that you can order. What I like though is that 2/3 were done really, really well. I will have to try that third option next time.

I know my carnivorous friends probably wouldn't agree, but for omnivorous me, when I don't feel like eating meat, this is a place that makes me not miss it.

  4. Beyond impressed with James and the Green Radish…

Now I don't normally go for vegan food not because I don't like it probably more because it doesn't come to mind. I must say for the green radish I'd go vegan any day. James has such a menu that you really don't miss meat.

His BBQ black bean burger is out of this world. The greatest black bean burger I've ever had. It was a good size patty, full of flavor, and you enjoy the beans. Now, I am not a black bean fan most days but I would order this over and over again. Served on a Balthazar bun topped with their veggie slaw and slow cooked bbq sauce.

Their banh mi sandwich is so filling. Grilled GMO free tofu, I know I know… tofu but honestly its sooo good that you forget its tofu. Anyway, its good, its topped with veggie slaw and Serrano pepper mayo. I tried their raw chocolate almond tart and their chocolate peanut butter cup – never knew vegan desserts would be so damn good! Honestly the one of the best desserts I've had. It almost made me not feel guilty.

If you every see The Green Radish on street make sure you go and try some of their food. You wont be disappointed.

  5. There are a ton of food trucks parked outside of my work building during lunch every day. I wanted to try something a tad big healthier, and decided on the Green Radish. I ordered the Tofu Banh Min, which was wrapped up in paper and put in a bag for me.

Upon takin gthe sandwhich out, I realized it was leaking. When I unwrapped it, the sauce was EVERYWHERE and the tofu kept slipping out. This was the messiest lunch I have ever had at my desk, as everything kept slipping out of the sandwhich. On top of that… it wasn't even that good! Not worth the mess, not worth the price, not worth the calories. Majorly dissappointed.

  6. Food trucks have really been chipping away at my apathy for vegan food recently. This truck was at a local jersey city event and I tried their BBQ veggie burger. I'm not a usual fan of BBQ, but I ordered this burger because I was served on a Balthazar Ciabatta roll and their other veggie burger was served on a whole wheat roll. Aside from being a very filling meal for $10, it was also extremely tasty and had a nice (not sweet) BBQ sauce.

  7. This is a PSA: DO NOT ORDER THEIR GARLIC "FRIES"

It is advertised as delicious crunchy baked fries but in reality it's just a damn baked potato with garlic garnish… For $5!! What a ripoff!

  8. This was my first experience with The Green Radish.

My office cafeteria wasn't doing it for me today, so I decided to see what my food truck options were. After weighing all of my options, The Green Radish seemed the most promising.

    I had:

    – Falafel Wrap – huge and delicious. Loaded with baked falafel, fresh slaw and tahini. The wrap was the size of my torso but I managed to eat it all!!!

    – Potato Salad – Not great, threw it out. It looked appealing because it was a vinegar based salad vs. mayonnaise. It was way too tangy for my delicate palate.

Next time I want to try their bbq black bean burger, it looked really good!
