I bought a hot chocolate here on a whim. It was $3 for an 8-oz with almond milk. The blend is milk and dark, so it's not too sweet. I did find it a little watery and not as rich and creamy as I would have liked.
The store is large, and the cashier was friendly. There are boxed chocolates and fresh truffles and pieces to buy. You can also purchase alcohol and pastries here.
Ducked into this place on a rainy Tuesday afternoon when I just needed a dry, quiet place to work. What a lovely little spot!
A chatty (but not, like, obnoxiously chatty) barista greeted me, made me a truly excellent almond milk hot chocolate (with real melted chocolate nibs and a liquified marshmallow float), let me pay with a credit card, told me the wifi password, and left me alone to work. The place was nearly deserted and wonderfully quiet, perfect for tucking away with a laptop and hitting some deadlines. I left with two boxes of their luxurious truffles, one of which I gave as a gift and the other of which…well, I just might keep for myself.
I almost didn't want to share about this place because it's such a perfect little hideaway, but they deserve the business.
New Nunu!
Fresh and clean.
Have to stop by for some salted caramel. They also offer blue bottle coffee and ten rotating craft beers as well as a selection of tea that'll be key in winter. Awesome. And it's bigger than the 'flagship'. My second favorite Brooklyn chocolatier.
