This coffee is as smooth as my skin…..prompting me to have my pic taken with the man himself.
Like this location and their coffee. I used to frequent this establishment when I was chasing a late rush hour express bus. Their service is always on point.
The tables are clean and well spaced out. The setting is perfect to unwind and just chill. The music playing overhead is relaxing. The coffee and snacks are way better than Starbucks. Too bad this franchise or chain is not in more NYC locations. But I get it, the city is already saturated with coffee joints.
I love the baked breads and they will gladly heat it up for you should you ask, sometimes they offer first or just do it. My personal fav is the cheesy bread (it's soft and just a hint of baked cheese bits).
The variety of coffee and exotic flavors make this place a must visit. I order the classic Columbian only.
Oh did I mention they were fast? Little to no wait but it could be the timing of when I've been there (usually 6:30PM – 8PM). So be mindful of that if you're there at another hour. I have not been during a lunch rush.
Juan Valdez makes my mornings, from the super friendly staff to the perfect café con leche! The location and Colombian pastries are very nice as well. It reminds me of my days living in Miami, where Juan Valdez is much more common. The space is Colombian themed and very relaxing, it is an ideal spot to meet up with friends for coffee or just to escape the Manhattan rush for a few moments. I have no idea why anyone would line up at Starbucks when there is great quality Colombian coffee at Juan Valdez. If you work or live in Midtown East this coffee place is a must try. You won't regret it!
Big fan of this coffee shop! Today was my second visit and both times I wasn't disappointed.
I have been looking for trendy places to study in the city and this fulfills most of my needs. There of tons of tables so you never have to wait for a spot to open. Everything is clean and the chairs are comfortable. My only complaint about the amenities is that there aren't many outlets available near the tables.
The coffee they have there is excellent. My medium hot coffee was about the same price as DD/Starbucks medium and I thought it tasted better. The first time I went, my girlfriend and I split a pastry and it was delicious. I can't remember the name of the pastry, but they all look amazing so i'm sure you can't go wrong!
Lastly, I will mirror what everyone else has said and suggest that you keep your receipt as it has both he Wifi password and Bathroom code. That being said, the employees are all very nice and I'm sure they would be willing to give you the codes if you accidentally toss it out

Juan Valdez has only three locations in the USA. I've been to the DC locations a couple of times, and this was my first time at the NYC location.
It has a similar feel to a Starbucks, but less crowded, with multiple espresso machines and four baristas quickly making coffee drinks to-go. Very few linger here – it's more of a "get in, get out" place.
The coffee drink that stands out is the tinto campesino. It has cane sugar, cloves, cinnamon, and lemon. It has a fresh and bright flavor that is great for a sleepy morning. Highly recommended.
Got first attracted by the cute latte art coming with the chai latte, yet got the cappuccino instead. Very smooth and well-balanced, one of the best cappuccinos in this area.
Very spacious with lots of seating options. They also sell coffee grinders for those coffee makers at home!
I'm really surprised that I did not discover this place before.
Spacious, quiet coffee oasis in bustling midtown. There's other good (better beverage-wise) coffee in few block radius (like Birch) but no cafe as inviting in its spaciousness. You can find a comfy seat and really sprawl here. The warm dark wood, ample seating/outlets will bring me back for many more cups of coffee and cozy conversations. Adriana was my barista and such a sweet soul.

The only Juan Valdez spot in NYC and near my job, normally when I just wandering around with no clear direction on what to do I stop by Juan's just to contemplate my next Yelp adventure.
I could go to Starbucks, but this is less crowded, plus I hear that, that 'China White' girl, Monica T. be meeting up here with Juan himself and I'm into all that scoping behind the espresso machine bit, you know. And Juan has some tasty treats you will not find anywhere else. The Almojabana and Pan De Pono which are too sweet dough cake-breads in place of having a sugary doughnut.
So I be sipping down one of Juan's Tinto Campesino, which has cane sugar, cloves, cinnamon, and some lemon tint to it while I eye the door hoping to see that China White girl comes in.
