  1. Excellent local bakery/cafe with super nice staff, clean and fresh decor, and amazing food and drink.

While walking around Jackson Heights, we decided to stop in for a coffee. Mind you, everything here is in Spanish, but folks are really friendly (staff and the customers). It seems like a place where they get a lot of repeat customers and have developed a nice foothold in this neighborhood. The lady behind the counter took the time to help explain the goods to me and gave me recommendations.

You walk in and along the entire left side is the bakery with sweets and other Spanish bites, such as arepas. I got Pan de Queso – essentially and circle of dough with some cheese inside. The dough was extremely tasty and had subtle hints of sweetness and saltiness to it, with the perfect amount of cheese inside. They have this hot sauce in small containers in the back so I took one to dip it in, and it was some of the best hot sauce I've ever had – FANTASTIC. I got a medium coffee and it was all under $3, a steal.

It's a bright cheery restaurant and I can see why it consistently stays packed. Definitely swing by for a coffee or juice and a snack when you're around the area! I wanted to eat all the baked goods they had, but I'll have to come back and try something new.
