DAVIDsTEA

“The blends have funky names, but the idea fits well with David's Tea's young and fun accent.”

“I'm seeing all these tea selections, "The Happy Collection" and "The Romantic Collection" (Friggin Canadians, stop being so nice!)”

“Of all the teas available, North African Mint is one of my favorites, next to Cream of Earl Grey, and followed by Chai Guarina.”

  1. I don't seem to like this location as much as the one on 63rd street. I found this davidstea to be a lot more smaller and cramped. Since it's midtown I understand the space problem but that was not what made it 2 stars. The employees did. The attitude of the employees are just so mixed. There's one that just wants you to say what you want and then get out so she can continue her conversation with her friend while another one is just friendly and bubbly but hidden away making drinks.
When asking what does  the cashier recommend …as in her favorite…she didn't even bother to answer but just pointed to a sad little table with sample pitchers of teas …which to be honest tasted horrible. At Other davidstea locations I would get honest opinions of the employees favorites and I end up getting them because I trust them. their recommendations end up tasting great so I don't question .
Here… I ended up scrolling through the menu to pick one I already tried in the past while feeling the pressure to order quickly.I picked a mango fruit punch and it was ok. Strong flavor of the tea and fruits just as I had it the first time. My intentional goal was to try a new tea but I guess that didn't work out. Would I come back? No not really. To 63rd street one. Most likely but I don't go up there much. Other ones? There's not much of this chain around …so someone should start franchising one.

  2. Love David teas!! They have amazing tea flavors plus a really great and friendly staff!

The store can get a little cramped but it's worth squeezing yourself in to buy a nice cup of delicious tea or some loose leaf tea to bring home. Personal favorite- red velvet… Mmmmmm

  3. Wow, the variety of teas here is a bit overwhelming. I walked in hoping to just pick up my favorite jasmine pear green tea but left with three different OTHER types of teas. The workers are super friendly and helpful, and you can pretty much smell everything. You can also order a cup of tea from any of the choices available.

My favorites so far is the buddha blend, and the jasmine black pearl. If you're an avid tea drinker and lover, definitely stop by! They also have a great selection of tea pots and travel mugs, great for gifts!

  4. I'm really thankful for their brick-and-mortar location because it'll save me shipping from Canada. I knew it existed here and I passed by on one of my walks and I was in the mood to check the place out and I'm glad I did. The staff was super friendly and helpful, which was great because I was perfectly overwhelmed by all the options, especially when I found out that I could have a freshly brewed iced tea of absolutely any tea they had in stock. Magicness. The woman helping me sensed my deer-in-headlights decision making and was ready to suggest things when I settled upon the coffee pur'eh. It was delicious and at $4, that's really not that bad for an individually brewed iced tea which is a pretty decent size too. The place is clean, bright and fun. They missed that final star from me because I thought it was odd that simple syrup isn't available if you'd like sugar in your iced tea. Other than that, I would definitely suggest it to friends looking for a spot to take a break from corporate coffee or a mid-afternoon treat. Great selection of merchandise too for tea gifts for your tea lover friends.

  5. What a fun place! David's tea combines a friendly/sassy staff with great quality tea in attractive packaging.

The teas are on the higher of the price spectrum, but worth the extra cost. I will say that the iced tea I ordered in-house wasn't the best, but I've enjoyed the tea leaves I brought back to LA.

Anyway, I hope this place never changes its character. The staff is super attentive and informative.

    Stay Cheerful 😉

  6. Having been declined from nearby THINK Coffee as Jasmine Green Tea was out of stock, I hoped that Davids Tea can heed the hope within my mind.  Davids Tea understands and know what is Jasmine Green Tea.  It is specific to Chinese culture, which most Americans are too oblivious to know, origins from a jasmine flower tea (茉 莉 花 茶).  Jasminum sambac flowers are used to make jasmine tea, which often has a base of green tea.  Davids Tea offers two kinds of Jasmine Green Tea: Dragon or Butterfly. I opt for Butterfly $3.68 was worth the subtle aroma to calm the mind, body and spirit in stillness to achieve an inner calm.

Hands down for good quality customer service for their knowledge, attentiveness, and the warm inviting feel to newbies like myself.  They are ready, willing and able to answer questions of various teas, herbs, and its origins.  Loose teas are available for sale.  I prefer traditional Green Tea (non-flavored).  Davids Tea has a loyalty card program which automatically puts customers on their email list.  Turquoise blue surrounds this tea shop of a modern contemporary atmosphere.  Yes, a menu listing all their teas for sale is available.

    Drink tea.  Live healthy.

  7. The people that work here are so friendly and energetic. The tea selection is huge and overwhelming. I don't know very much about tea so I chose the first thing that looked interesting. It was called cactus cool and it was a greed tea. I got that as an ice tea and it tasted exactly what you would imagine a cactus tasting.(besides hurting you). It was very cool and refreshing. If I were in the city for longer I would have gone back to buy some more tea to bring home.

  8. How nice to be greeted with free sample of some light tea. Hailing from Canada and HQ'd in the USA's city of Boston, the whole place reminds me of Teavana and Tealuxe in Boston in that the employees know anything and everything about each kind of tea and will spend time with you to figure out what will be best for yourself or for a gift. It seems like they run promotions too — sales for mugs/steepers/etc. An ounce of dragon pearl tea is claimed to get 4-5 cups of hot tea and came out to $7.25.
