Review for Sunday Brunch
Surprisingly brunch had a very light crowd, maybe only us plus a few other tables. The space is very inviting and comfortable, perfect for a lingering brunch. There was a couple playing jazz music, which I thought was great, it really enhanced the whole experience.
Our server was lovely, very attentive and kind.
Many brunch places offer a Bellini as a beverage which I usually order and am always disappointed. Not at MP, the Bellini was fantastic – the best I've ever had.
The brunch menu has a wide variety of options and the lunch menu is also offered.
The Country Cast Iron breakfast is 3 baked eggs, Greek pork sausage, bacon, roasted tomato, potatoes, grilled bread; it was excellent. Savory, hearty and satisfying. The egg souvlaki was served with the most delicious crispy potatoes. Desserts were also wonderful.
MP Taverna is a fantastic place for a group brunch where you can expect great food and a great time.
The family and I went on a Saturday for their Brunch.
We made a reservation but there weren't many people in the restaurant although there seemed to be a party going on upstairs. Upon walking in there was an adorable couple playing music and singing which I liked.
The waiter brought us bread with oil which was tasty. I ordered off the brunch menu and had the Country "Cast Iron" Breakfast with scrambled eggs instead of baked eggs as did most of the rest of our table. Mine came out perfect however my father's was runnier than he would have liked. My eggs created a skillet omelet because of how the veggies were mixed in which I liked.
The bacon with it came extra crispy as did the sausage although it wasn't my favorite.
The bellini's were yummy as was the cafe latte I got after my meal.
I may try it again!
Nice roofdeck and friendly service but mixed experience with the food. The sauce on the lemon chicken was great but the chicken itself tasting okay but not the best. Would come back again but would try something other than the chicken.
Love the lamb burger. But tonight decided to try the special veal chop. It looked delicious, but was meh at best….. Should have stuck with the burger. Started with special watermelon salad which I highly recommend.
It was our first time on outdoor deck, which is perfect on a summer night.
Service was great. Especially like the employee wearing the kicks with Mets colors and sporting a Mr Met tat.
My dinner was a 3 due to main but service and ambiance was a 5. The lamb burger is a 5+
This place is way too expensive for what we got. Can't say the food is bad because it's not but it's just not worth the money.
The staff was friendly when we came in and it's a pretty looking restaurant. We could see that they had an upstairs outdoor area that's pretty inviting but we didn't set that we sat downstairs by the bar. I don't know the servers name I didn't keep the receipt but she was very friendly.
My mother got the beat salad and it was $14. $14 for this little salad that was not worth that kind of money. And yeah my lamb burger was good but it didn't have a lot of flavor even with feta cheese. And again not worth the money. My dad's seafood paella was quite good and personally I would recommend it but my dad thought it was too spicy.
We like to go into that area to find new places to eat but we will not go back here. It was a unanimous vote to not return
How does this place only have 3.5 stars? You guys must be spoiled with all of your Greek options, but I can tell you that, as someone who has no access to good Greek, this place really is legit.
I actually find this area of Roslyn pretty cute. Parking can sometimes be challenging (can we talk about the 7 day a week paid lot across the street? Like really, Roslyn?), but I've never had too much trouble. I like this restaurant's atmosphere, and my boyfriend and I have enjoyed more than one date night here.
Starting out their bread is AWESOME. It's a Greek place so it doesn't need bread per se, but I can't help but eat theirs in addition to the pita that comes with the trio dip. That trio dip [hummus, tzatziki, and eggplant] is the stuff of dreams (5), and I literally run to this place when I return back to Long Island.
The branzino is AMAZING (5). I love that it's deboned and I have never been disappointed. I have never had a bad meal here, so I'm super surprised at all of the negative reviews. If you're into branzino and any Greek dips – please check this place out. I'd love to see it get the Yelp recognition it deserves.
….really bad. Sat at the bar for dinner on a Sat. night and it was pretty dead. I had been here before and remember it being okay, nothing amazing but this time it did not even live up to its mediocre memory. The service staff was lost, confused and arguing with one-another. My husband and I both got steak and we were given one knife to share. The food was half cold and the steak was tough. The wine tasted cheap and they were served in thick cheap wine glasses. The mean age of the crowd was in their 70's. Overall an unpleasant experience, frankly one of the worst dinner's I've had all year. I will not be returning.
As per usuall MP didnt dissapoint, the brunch menu is a little different than the one in Astoria, but they had the cast iron skillet with that great side salad, and i love that they all have good beer, well done MP.
