  1. Wine:34 is a perfect place for a girls night or date night. Super intimate with cool atmosphere and fantastic service. The waiter saw me struggling to put on my bracelet and he ran over to help me out. Great guy! I came here with one of my girlfriends after a rough day of work and we just had a classic wine night. The wine selection is very good and not too pricey. I ordered the French onion soup and dill dip, both delicious! But, although the wine wasn't too pricey, I thought the food was a little out there. The portions were very tiny and I definitely spent way too much money for getting a French onion soup. I tried some of my friends' flatbread, and thought it was just ok. Didn't give this place a full 5 stars because for the prices of the food, the portions should be a little larger and better quality.

I'll be coming back here when I have a little more money to blow because I left here feeling a little ripped off. But, I'm also a fresh out of college girl who can't afford to be wining and dining all the time(which I tend to forget). Definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants delicious wine and a light dinner. Will be back here when I get my next paycheck!

  2. Wine:34 just opened a few weeks ago, much to my excitement, as my boyfriend lives right across the street. It's definitely already the coolest restaurant on the block. Not totally sure how I feel about the ambiance, though. The lighting, with its circular panels, is definitely unique, but we thought it was a little bright in there. And the decor is a little haphazard. Still, it's a trendy, intimate atmosphere.

Everything was delicious here, but the portions are pretty small. We started with a glass of wine/beer. I had a Merlot, which at $10 was the cheapest red you could get. It was really good, but the pour wasn't really sufficient. My boyfriend's Chimay White came out in an interesting glass. We later switched to cocktails (all $14), which I thought were worthy of a spot on the menu at a cocktail bar. The Empire State of Mind (Jalapeno Infused Tequila, Aperol, St. Germain, Lime Juice) was good, but heavy on the Aperol, so too bitter for me. I thought the Saving Grace (Bourbon, Lime Juice, Simple Syrup, Angostra Bitters, Mint), however, was perfect. Very balanced, very good ingredients.

We also had some bites: Tuna Tartare (With Avocado, Seaweed & Lattice Cut Potato Chips), which was notable for the sesame oil, and a cheese and charcuterie plate with Goat Tomme, Pecorino di Vino, and Truffled Soppresata. The plate was served with honey and some other things. All good, but the pecorino was my favorite of the two cheeses, and the soppresata was one of the best things that's ever happened to me.

I'll end on this note: As I was doing a google search for Wine:34, the first automatic suggestion to pop up was "Wine 34 NYC". The second was "Wine 34 weeks pregnant".

  3. Way too many stars here from my fellow Yelpers. My experience last night was just so so and unless I lived in the neighborhood, I would not go out of my way to dine here. Small, cute space that works well for a glass of wine and maybe some nibbles after work. Wine list is very good and prices are reasonable but the food, while appearing promising on the menu and also in the pics here on Yelp is very sub par. Problem here is execution. Just about everything we ordered that required cooking was over cooked. Lamb chops and steaks ordered medium rare were well done. Same for the salmon entree. Even the roasted vegetables that accompanied the buffalo mozzarella appetizer were reduced to mush. Not good.
