I can't say enough about Cream, its the best bar / restaurant in Ridgewood.
Drinks, Cocktails, Food, ambiance & decor are all firing on all cylinders!
Cream is Number one in Ridgewood and since I'm a local inhabitant of Cream (yes I am) that means Cream is doing everything right, music is hip and happening, the Bartenders are all just Fab and Chef is Creaming the heck out of the dishes!
I love It!
CREAM is finally open! Yay!
And guess what? The food is on point!
Rusty and I have visited Cream twice so far, once for brunch and once for dinner. The atmosphere is so woodsy and calming. Dark colors, art on the walls, a colorful bar, and you can see right into the kitchen. There's an upstairs dining area, and also some space outside (no tables out there yet).
For dinner, I had the prawn and also a salad with apricots and goat cheese. Very tasty. The prawn is HUGE and I could hardly finish it by myself, even though it's an appetizer. Rus had the lamb burger, which was referred to us by a few of our friends, and was also very tasty and juicy. Dinner is a hit at Cream!
We had brunch here today, and the food was ok. The brunch menu seems a little bit ambitious. The eggs are served with hummus. The eggs benedict comes with crab cakes, everything has goat cheese on it. It'd be cool if there were one or two simple dishes to balance everything out (eggs, potatoes, bacon, a french toast or pancakes dish). That said, I did appreciate that every dish came with a complimentary mimosa. Rusty also tried the white sangria, which was more like fruit salad and a shot of sangria, but still very good.
I ordered the 2 eggs + naan + salad + hummus. The hummus was great. If it's homemade, they can serve it a little bit chunkier, and with a bit more salt or garlic, something for flavor. I was also pretty disappointed to see that my eggs were overcooked (dramatically). I asked for them over easy and they were fried straight through. Rus ordered the crab cake eggs benedict, and his yolks were also cooked. The staff was really understanding though, and offered us some drinks on the house to make it up. We had to decline, because we were in a hurry.
I'm really excited about Cream. I can't wait for them to open up the backyard with some seating. Dinner here was great, but to be honest, I'll probably skip on brunch unless they decide to change up the menu.
It's only OK for me.
We entered at 4pm and learned that the kitchen opens at 5pm, so we went shopping and come back later.
The interior is nice, I especially loved the outside garden. Unfortunately it was to hot outside to enjoy it. However inside was hot too, AC was not strong.
I liked the bartender, he remember that I walked in with my dad hour earlier 😉 however I don't know why our waitress was just ok, seamed little clumsy.
Now food. It was very tasty! My dad had salmon, it was cooked perfectly. I had beef burger, it was really nice! Juicy, well seasoned. I enjoyed side of fries with it. As an appetizer we shared cream salad. I liked it a lot, even my dad said it was tasty even though he is not a fan of arugula. We also shared mac and cheese, unfortunately it was rather bland.
Overall the food was really good. I will definitely be back. Maybe 4th star on its way?
Omg!!! Cream is one of those restaurants that is a diamond in the rough! It can be easily missed and it took us a few minutes to spot it. Shout out to my Elite Fam Tonya J., for blessing me with her awesome review and pictures of Cream. This place is definitely sexy…We walked into Cream on a Friday night and the vibe was very laid back. It wasnt crowded or filled with people being loud, which was the exact vibe I was going for. R&B was playing in the background as we had the option to either sit outside or inside. At first we sat outside which was extremely cute. Wooden benches and pretty lights set the tone as comfortable and classy. I eventually decided to sit inside because I wanted to fully experience Cream. There is a bar located in the front and depending on where you sit, you can have a nice view of the chefs who looked like a lot of fun. We started off with a drink called Cream which tasted like strawberry heaven. It was so delicious and a must try! I wanted to try the mac & cheese because it sounded tasty. Once I took one bite and experienced the bread crumbs and truffle oil infused with the mac & cheese, I can honestly say it is the best I've had in my life! It was completely perfect. We then tried the salmon and lamb burger which were a huge hit! The only thing I would change about the mashed potatoes would to add a little more butter, however, I simply requested a small side of melted butter which worked out great! We wanted to try another drink since they sounded delicious. We tried the Naranjo and the Babushka….Okay the Naranjo was so good that I took one sip, paused, and just stared at the glass in amazement! Yelpers this drink right here is a MUST TRY. It tasted like an orange creamsicle…PERFECTION AT IT'S BEST. I also enjoyed the Babushka which had a nice kick to it, but also a sweet and sour taste which was great. Shout out to the bartender that night..yes you did your thing!!!! I don't understand how anyone could possibly give Cream one star. That is a major insult. I advise everyone to go here and enjoy their food, drinks and ambiance. You won't regret it!
