Cutting Board Flushing
“But it came in a very cute mason jar with a curly straw:) The grilled chicken creamy rice was pretty big, I didn't even put a dent in it!”
“Uni Pasta- When my friend said this pasta was legit I immediately question his choices in food, how can a Chinese restaurant have good Uni pasta?”
“-Baked pork chops over rice – Good, well-flavored but a little on the blander side.”

I've been here a couple of times. They have Asian style American food. The sea urchin pasta was pretty good, not mind blowing but had an interesting texture and taste. Their baked rice/pasta dishes are decent too.
Great selection of drinks and comfort dishes! There are times when I just want lobster bisque but I also want omelet rice. This place has a lot of great appetizers and all the portions are big so it's a nice place to share. Even so, this place isnt what I'd call delicious.
Surprisingly their uni pasta is yummy. I was very delighted to find that it didn't taste 'fishy' at all. But for their linguine with pancetta; like a mouthful of onions and grease. My seafood with baked spaghetti came out burnt. Not exactly a surprise but still a pain to eat picking out all the charred pieces of shellfish.
All the rice dishes are buttery and it melts in your mouth but to eat just that, gets sickening very quickly.
Also, how come the katsu doesn't come with any sauce if you order a side of it??? Maybe it's me, but I am only used to eating katsu with sauce.
I ordered the pork katsu after reading many yelp reviews on it. It definitely was crispy and golden, the pasta portion was decent and tasty. I think you have to be open minded and think of their style as their own. The serving sizes are generous and waiters very attentive to our needs, whether it was adding an extra table or refilling our waters. I mainly came here because we were going to Snowdays next door and this was convenient. The menu is very extensive and I'd return to try something else.
The dishes are pretty much the same as the Chinatown branch.
The restaurant itself is decently spaced out so you wont feel crowded when walking in.
The staff is friendly and understandable.
There is a good selection of HK style food. I highly recommend the CB Mussels, Shake Shake fries, Fried Calamari, Grilled Teriyaki Chicken Salad, and Pancetta and Cream Pasta.
The CB mussels are okay. For an HK fusion place in flushing, they are just mediocre. The food is decently priced for the style of food. Service is fast and friendly.
A mix of Italian and Hong Kong style dishes.
From the outside the place looks dark, but inside is alright.
Prices range from $5 – 10 for appetizers and mains.
Ordered linguine with clams, popcorn chicken, portabella mushrooms, seafood paella, fried calamari, fries.
The food is pretty decent. The pasta was cooked perfectly, and the rice in the paella wasn't too soggy.
The calamari comes with 3 different dipping sauces, salsa, curry, and spicy.
Service was very attentive for such a big table in our group.
I'm quite surprised at the average rating of the Cutting Board (a 3 as of 3/12/16) because my family and I had a great 'ol time during our visit. The food is consistently good across the board, their prices were quite fair, and the decor is quite modern too, perfectly fitting for a younger crowd.
Below is a quick sampling of the stuff we ordered:
Sea Urchin Spaghetti, A (Get. This.)
Chicken Nugget, B+
Avocado Salad, B
Lobster Rolls, B
Beef Soup, B
Fish Fillet w Cream Corn Sauce, B+
Their chicken nuggets were very crispy, a tad heavy on the batter, but nonetheless, still delicious. The dressing on the avocado salad was delish, but they really skimp you on the avocados. I personally would've liked to see more frisee. Lobster rolls are quite mediocre, nothing special other than the $9 price tag (which is AMAZING if you simply want a lobster roll in NYC). Beef soup was very clean tasting. My daughter was very fond of this soup. I liked the fish filet over baked rice a lot. Very flavorful. And as already mentioned above, the uni spaghetti is a must order.
For feeding a family of 7, our bill only came out to $75, which sounds pretty amazing to me considering the type of food we had.
Note that their menu is very seafood-focused. Which means that you'll definitely want to check your allergies if you and shellfish don't get along.
yesterday it was a super rainy, windy and cold day.
called to get takeout and asked for a specific time; got there about 5 min earlier than what i told them and my food was ready which was a plus.
the boyfriend and i ordered creamy rice with seafood, their mussels, shrimp toast, calamari and their lobster roll.
their creamy rice with seafood had like 4 pieces of shrimp, mussels, scallop, calamari rings etc. it was worth it. they werent cheap about the seafood and one of the things i really like about the rice was that they added perfect bite sizes of zucchini and squash. loved the crunchy texture.
their mussels were REALLY good. i loved their cream sauce. we didnt finish the order but im going to make some pasta with the left over mussels. the sauce is SUPER flavorful
shrimp toast is a tad oily but really great on the palate. even though we brought it home and ate it like an hour after ordering, it was still really crunchy and there was legit shrimp.
my bf and i LOVE calamari. i really like how they give 3 different types of dipping sauce lol. i love the batter that they use as well. i just wish they served the tentacles as well 🙁 ( i know im weird but i love the tentacles!! lol)
lastly, i had a bite of the lobster roll but my boyfriend really liked it. for like $9, you get a full lobster roll and they stuff the crap out of it. it had celery an onions. it also comes with a side of chips.
i almost forgot, we also got a taro bubble tea and hk iced tea.
taro bubble tea wasnt washed down like some places; wished they gave more bubbles
and the bf really liked the sweetness of the hk iced tea
will be back again 🙂
We started off with two appetizers, the wasabi octopus and BBQ beef tongue. These were so good. I love trying new things and these are definitely in my list to order again. The wasabi paired so well with the octopus and the lemon at the end kept the flavor together. Ugh it's really addictive. It's a small portion but well worth it. The beef tongue was surprisingly meaty. I really liked that. It was tender and delicious. For our main courses, my friend had the curry beef udon soup and I the baked pork chop with rice. I didn't like the beef for her udon soup cause it was like really fine hamburger meat and I'm not used to that in soup. The curry itself was underwhelming and I thought it could have used more tumeric or some other spice(s). The noodles were iite. I really enjoyed my baked pork chop. It reminded me of a dish I used to order in a restaurant that's closed down years ago in the Manhattan Chinatown. The pork chop seemed a bit over cooked. The tomato sauce was on the sweeter side, I thought it could be more sour but it was savory. I would order spaghetti with my baked fish next time because I've already tried it with rice. It's a young-ish atmosphere but I can see young and mature customers enjoying a causal meal.
