Our server was fantastic! He was happy, friendly, perky, and cute! My friend suggested we meet here after a Monday night Yankees game. Unfortunately, the game ran long, and THEN went into a rain delay. My friend wasnt rushed, though, as she waited, and our server let her know when the kitchen was closing so she could get in a food order. We walked in shortly after, and he was able to put in an order of fries for me. This restaurant/bar is a very quick walk from Gate 6 at Yankee Stadium, less than 5 minutes. And behind the bar are lots of TVs for watching many games & keeping up with that pesky rain delay. Not a large place, the Bronx Drafthouse has lots of seats along the bar plus quite a few hi-top tables that seat 4. I was also excited to find an A/C outlet by our table so I could charge my phone. Since I'd been drinking beer during the game, I stuck with that & had a bottled Stella in a frosty mug. They only offer drink specials on non-game days… But my check was reasonable, about $11 for that beer & fries. And my friend said her wings were very tasty as well.
All I have are two things to say:
1) Amazing beer selections, especially their beer special blackboard.
2) A waitress to take your beer orders and serve your beer? Get out.
I came after the game where the crowd was not that huge, so I was able to get the waiting service. I'm assuming they won't do the waiting service if it's over crowded. Or maybe the bouncer stops letting people in after a certain capacity.
Anyways, if you're around for a Yankee game and in need of a pregame spot, this is your place.
