Cherry Valley Deli & Grill

“A beast hero is under $8, and while it's not as long as a Subway footer, Jarred's sandwiches don't weigh almost 4 pounds.”

“Psstt, its not just about the sandwiches, their chicken tenders and the couch (fries) with gravy are amazing too!”

“It is a goal of mine to try at least one new thing every time I go, but getting the same thing is comforting…especially the Bushman!”

  1. Lowered my review simply because of the customer service. For some reason there's an employee there who's extremely rude and makes people not want to come back. It's ridiculous.

I didn't catch his name but he has dark hair and glasses and wears a basketball cap.

Very rude. Treat your customers nicely or else you wouldn't have customers. Simple!

Yes the food is good BUT what's an establishment without customers who make it an establishment.

  2. I have had (all in one order);
    1) The Bullet
    2) The Gambler
    3) The NYPD
    4) Curly Fries with Special Dressing

    It costs about 38$!

The guy working there allowed me to sample some of the food becus it was my first time here which was great! they are right across from their competitor Christinas and seem to make a good one.

They are 24/7 and have street parking which you can AFK park with blinkers on and wait at the store!
Food tasted decent and filling, however I can't say that I tasted much difference in the sandwiches except for spices even though they all had different ingredients!

Overall, definitely a great spot to hang around and have a FILLING sub sandwich with your buds

  3. Cherry Valley is great for breakfast, lunch, dinner or just a late night snack. I usually either get a TCS or Philly cheesesteak. They have such a variety….everything you can imagine really. I love the unique names for the sandwiches like Bushman, Z Zoo and Mary Jane. They are ALWAYS open! In the summer time I like to stop in at Cherry Valley to get a cold cut sandwich and a large iced coffee before heading to the beach. This place had been around for a long time and I hope to keep coming back for a lot longer. It brings back memories of my high school and college days. Delicious! I have only gone to the Whitestone location…one of these days I will take a trip to the Long Island spot.

  4. I've been coming back to Cherry Valley again in the past 5 months ordering their beast on a hero with mushrooms. For the most part, it's been pretty consistent and good but sometimes the hero is burnt and charred. There were a few occasions where all I noticed were the employees chit chatting and having complete disregard for whatever that was in the fryer or on the grill.

Another thing I dislike about coming to Cherry Valley is the smell of the place sometimes. I think the floor needs to be mopped up more frequently. Sometimes, there's a really bad musty moldy smell. The workers here probably don't even notice it because their noses have gotten use to it but the smell could somewhat unbearable at times.

I haven't gotten any other sandwiches other than the beast. It's hard to go wrong with the beast even when the bread is too toasty. The chicken cutlet is usually pretty good, the onion ring and gravy makes its that much better. I would recommend ordering ahead of time, this way you don't have to wait around in the store and witness some of the incompetence of some of these workers. It's still a good spot for hot sandwiches but it's just not as good as I remembered it to be during my high school and college years.

  5. Ordered over the phone for a friend and decided to have what she's having..
We each ordered the fat cat hero and wow.. That hero was humongous! Two burgers, waffle fries… I forgot the rest because that thing literally put us in a food coma.
It wasn't bad but I still prefer the food over at Christina's. It was lacking something actually.. Maybe I'll try out a few more items and update my review.

  6. I think this might be my favorite deli in Queens. The fries with mozzarella and gravy was amazing..I could probably eat the whole thing. It's a perfect combination! I initially wanted a Italian sandwich, but they have rather the "Godfather Sandwich," which appears to be pretty popular there. It's exactly like a Italian sandwich but with the addition of sweet peppers..a lot of sweet peppers! I'm not that big of a sweet person, so I didn't really like the sweet peppers that much, but nonetheless it was delicious and all the ingredients are rather fresh.

  7. My go-to place for a nice, hearty, chicken cutlet sandwich.

They have a huge menu consisting of a wide variety of foods such as burgers, poutines, deli sandwiches and their speciality, chicken cutlet sandwiches. They have their own custom sandwiches, my favorite being the coyote, which consists of chicken cutlet, waffle fries, bacon, mozzarella cheese and ranch dressing. Yes, just the sight of this sandwich will make your arteries clog, but that's how I like it. At a cost of $9 per hero, you will be induced into a delightful food coma that your body will appreciate.

Do yourself a favor, and get your butt over here.

  8. A 24 hidden gem in the middle of Whitestone.
This deli has a vast variety of specialty sandwiches and turns simple ingredients into art

The food is delicious and the service is great. Order ahead of time because this place can get packed sometimes
