Dig Inn

“You can get a sizeable dinner with generous helpings of protein (I think I got like 5-6 meatballs), plus 3 sides.”

“I do notice that healthier meal options are a bit more costly, but I don't mind paying for quality over cheaper bad food choices.”

“There's plenty of seating inside and it's just steps away from Union Square so on a nice day you could easily grab your food and eat it in the park.”

  1. Yo, healthy. Got a salad. Veggies all over the place. Asked for the avocado, got HALF of the dang thing. Awesome. Dig Inn is kind of like a Chipotle for HEALTH. The people who work here are real chill and friendly. I sat and ate my meal with my partner in peace and I'm just trying to fill up the word requirements on Yelp with this review please don't delete it Yelp overlords.

  2. I love this Dig Inn location. It gets very busy around lunchtime, but the line moves quickly and the food is worth it. My favorite thing to get is the veggie plate, which gives you a base (greens, brown rice, or farro) and three sides. The sides range from mac and cheese to sweet potatoes to broccoli, so it's easy to find options you'd like. For less than $9, the large veggie plate is a great amount of semi-healthy food.

The staff here is very friendly as well, which is not always the case at all fast casual spots during the lunch rush. There's plenty of seating inside and it's just steps away from Union Square so on a nice day you could easily grab your food and eat it in the park.

  3. Why thank you Dig Inn, I will gladly do so with the delicious food you serve!

Health food? Bleh. It's not meant to taste good right?
Well, Dig Inn turns all of those misconceptions on their heads, as the food here is both seemingly amazing and good for you!

I got the Lemon-Herb chicken, along with a side of mac and cheese and a side of the greens and beats. Everything was seriously tasty, and I don't even like beets very much!

Perhaps one of the best parts is how well-priced Dig Inn is; I got a small plate with a filling amount of food for $8.50. This is an awesome deal in the city!

  4. One of my favorite places for lunch. Super cheap and they give you a ton of hearty food. There are so many different options that I could come here everyday and get a different meal. That's what I love about Dig Inn – mix and match for whatever you are in the mood for. (Though I tend to always get a veggie plate – $6 for a small. You get three sides and they give you a lot)

There is always a line during the workweek but it moves quickly, the servers are quick and efficient and the cashier team is especially sharp to keep everyone moving along. I've never had a hard time getting a seat since everyone is in and out but I wish the space was bigger so we are not all on top of one another.

Great flavor, quick and cheap makes for a frequent work lunch option.

  5. I always feel super healthy after eating at Dig Inn. However they give way too little. My meal satisfied the hunger but the fatass that I am still wanted something else to eat afterwards. Mothers braised beef was good, sautéed kale was too salty but it was cooked perfectly texture wise.

    Get the large!

  6. I've heard good things about place. I left my wallet in the office – no problem they take level up and you get a $5 credit. I got a small veggie meal – greens, broccoli, sweet potato and carrots. They label all the items gluten-free and/or vegan which is helpful. The food was flavorful and fresh and reasonably prices. The one thing it's missing is dessert.

Space – it's an order and sit type of place, but large enough for you small groups 4-6.

  7. I use the level up app all the time. Since I had $5 credit at Dig Inn I decided to come here for a salad. I ordered the field salad. The field salad had charred Broccoli w/Meyer lemon, braised winter greens w/ beets, peppers, roasted sweet potatoes and pesto dressing. I thought the salad was good. The veggies could be more fresh and not as dry. The whole environment at Dig inn was very comfortable. When you enter you will see a big board of what's in season. All the tables had little flowers. The menu was very simple to order from. Great to see there's more healthy food options in the city.

  8. For a quick, filling lunch, this place is great.

You order similar to Chipotle, where you pick your main meal, then sides. The portions are perfect, and the food is actually pretty good. I got the lemon chicken and it was very tender. Some of the best chicken I've gotten (from a lunch joint). The cauliflower was excellent, and I usually don't like it!!
Everything, chicken over greens, and 2 sides cost around $9, and it was well worth it.
