Belli Osteria
“I got the arugula salad to start, followed by the Fettucine al Funghi, and even though I wasn't super hungry, I ate it ALL.”
“Skip the mediocre pizza line at Emily and get yourself across the street for delicious homemade pasta dishes.”
“I had the pappardelle with short rib ragu which was very good, although I would have preferred the pasta a bit more al dente.”

Beautiful space, great service, and surprisingly deserted on a Saturday evening so no wait time. I was in a party of 7 and we had a great time. We loved the fresh rolls, which came with butter and a sauce. Everyone else was pleased with their meals, even one who ordered black spaghetti (squid ink). I, however, was truly disappointed by my meal. I would have been better off eating from a can of Chef Boyardee then spending $15 for homemade pappardelle with honey-braised short rib ragu. Let's keep in mind that I have not had canned food since my teenage years. I was not WOWed at all so life was NOT belli for me.
Pleasantly surprised by the wonderful meal we had at Belli! We came, like many others, to eat at Emily's right across the street only to hear that it was over a 2 hour wait! Insane. Belli is charming, food is incredible and the staff is very attentive. I've gone back twice already and will definitely stop by again next time I'm in the neighborhood.
Things you can't skip:
1) Truffle fries- amazing, not oily and packed with truffle oil
2) Spaghetti Al Nero- homemade black pasta with blue crab, chili and lemon; Did I lick the plate clean? You better believe it
3) Spaghetti Calabrese- Boyfriend said it was delicious and had a nice kick
4) Roasted Brussel sprouts- I always get this item at every restaurant and this one stands out because it's filled with BACON.
Decent place for a bottomless brunch..
Food: shared the omelette (goat cheese) and French toast with my friend… No complaints about the food but I wouldn't completely rave and say I had to go back; bottomless Bloody Mary or mimosas for 90 minutes – the Bloody Mary was just not good, I think it was only tomato juice and vodka, mimosas were tasty but I guess it's hard to go wrong there
Service: our waiter was very friendly and attentive, constantly refilling our mimosas… The place wasn't too crowded so I think they were more generous with the 90 minute bottomless drinks
Ambience: small little place in a cute neighborhood
This place was wonderful!! Grabbed some to-go dinner the night before my flight out. They were awesome about letting us order at the bar and gave us water while we waited. Such great friendly service
We ordered two small dishes and shared an entree. Had I known the food was going to be so good, I would have insisted on two entrees! They threw in some fresh bread and we devoured it! So yummy!
The Esotica salad was delicious. It was perfectly light and a great starter to our meal. Which also included the Pecoraio (Brussle Sprouts). Both were lovely!
**The housemade Gnocchi with braised duck ragu was out-of-this-world AMAZING!! I really loved it! Licked the bottom of the darn to-go container! (Classy – I know!)
The atmosphere was definitely a date night kind of place. But there was small group celebrating something and they were having a great time! 🙂 I thought that the prices were reasonable and they had a lovely wine selection that I would have loved to peruse more.
Go here! It's fantastic!!
I HIGHLY recommend this place! The food is delicious, the service is extremely friendly and the ambience is casual enough for lunch but yet romantic enough to bring a date at night.
I always order the spaghetti rigatoni with Grandma's bolognese sauce. It's served with fresh bread and a home made dipping sauce. Top that off with a glass of Malbec and your in food coma!
it's the best Italian food that I have had in NYC. I am a repeat customer. The owners themselves and the waitstaff are extremely friendly and you can tell that truly care for their customers and business.
So if your in the Clinton Hill area and want some great Italian food this is the place to check out!
Came here for a birthday party. We had the entire side room, right of the entrance. Not a bad space. Quite open. Service was meh. Had to go to the bar for drinks. Had some of the pizza here. It was okay, it wasn't bad, but kind of pricey, given that a by-the-slice joint can have equally if not slightly better za. But this place is more Italian and that means the beer list stinks. I know, drink the wine then, Mike. I apparently had a lot of Brooklyn Lagers because my bill was quite eye-popping. Felt like Midtown prices but maybe this part of the borough is changing THANKS BARCLAYS.
The clientele looked cool here. Sort of a 30s-ish vibe, diverse, romantic. Didn't have any of the other entrees this place might be worth another shot.
Came for dinner. Everything was passable.
We arrived at the same time as another person and the server seemed a bit frazzled. Sucks when there's no host and they leave the hosting duties to the servers, but what can you do.
Our server might have been the only one for the side of the restaurant that we were in, so she was super busy. She didn't get us water until after we asked and this was after we got our check-in-deal beers and other cocktails. We also never got any bread.
The food was fine, nothing spectacular. We had the squid ink pasta, calamari, and two flat bread pizzas. The pizzas were very crispy in a good way. Calamari and pasta were average.
Overall, an ok experience but, again, nothing special.
This was a great experience. I was a little hesitant because it is on the side of Fulton that is a little less gentrified but everything was amazing.
We were a party of 14, and we had our own private little area/ room to be loud and rowdy.
We ordered a bunch of apps, the shrimp, the calamari , cheese plates (fig Jam was outrageous), and the butternut squash with buffalo mozzarella. Everyone scarfed down the appetizers, there was nothing left!
For dinner my boyfriend and I ordered the parpadelle with a short rib ragu, the lamb ragu gnocchi, and black spaghetti with crab meat. We thought everything was delicious.
I think our fave was the black spaghetti it was spicy and had a little heat but not too much. The pasta was so well cooked! It was perfectly al dente!
I am so looking forward to going back!
