Hello Bklyn
“Of course let's not forget the unlimited mimosas that really had us there for that long haha.”
“We ordered burgers and OMG, amazing the mac and cheese burger was simply outstanding, no complaints from my youngest who had the Wasabi Burger.”
“An excellent burger bar with a small, but great selection of beers (also try the chimichurri wings and thank me later).”

Once I heard the phrase "pour your own mimosas", I knew I had to give this place a try. Unfortunately, the pour-your-own concept is really the only thing it has going (the concept, not the mimosas themselves). The mimosas were pretty much juice. My friends and I even found ourselves watching them make the mix just to ensure that they actually included champagne. The food was also disappointing. I had the french toast breakfast sandwich (it might have a more creative name, but I don't remember it). It was literally just a sandwich on a plate. No sides, no garnishes. Can a girl at least get a sprig of parsley or an orange slice!?! It was decent, but not exciting. The french toast was kind of soggy. I was disappointed.
The place itself is super cute, and I've heard they have good burgers. However, my experience at brunch does not make me want to come back to test that out.
This is my new neighborhood jam. They are going to get sick of me hanging around and drink all their beers. They have great food too. The burgers are fantastic. The onion rings, a must!! Stopped in here for a late afternoon snack and a couple of beers. I was greeted by an amazing bartender with a huge smile. I was read the late afternoon snack and drink deals, there were a couple and that pretty alright with me. There are $4 drink specials and some decent food options.
The folks in and out of the kitchen always have a smile too. That in combination with the kickass tunes they are always playing, the tvs they are always rocking and the cool vibe, find me at the bar and say hello!!
Hello Bklyn opened just down the street from my boyfriend's apartment and we were looking forward to a convenient place to stop for drinks and burgers.
On our first visit, we stopped by for wings and drinks. I love me some chicken wings and these were some of the largest I've had in awhile, but they were unbearably salty. After a couple wings, I had to give up.
Hoping this was just a fluke since they were a new restaurant, my boyfriend and I returned for dinner about a month later. I ordered the wings again, which were much better, though still on the salty side. I also ordered the spinach salad. The spinach salad was $9 for a bowl of spinach with walnuts, goat cheese, and dressing. Though it was tasty, it felt like something I would quickly throw together for lunch, not worth almost $10.
My boyfriend said his burger was fine. Pretty standard high end bar burger. The fries were really tasty.
Service was good both times. Ambiance wise, the music was incredibly loud. It was almost impossible to have a conversation with my boyfriend who was sitting just across the table from me. Despite the convenient location, I don't think we'll be back any time soon.
Came here with a friend and we ordered the surf & turf with a side salad. We came here at 5:00 pm before it was busy so servers were attentive.
The burger was only just okay. If there was no lobster, I think it would've been even more lacking. We ordered a medium and a medium rare. The burger came well done and the patties were pretty small as well. The side salad came in a huge bowl, but besides balsamic dressing there was nothing else in it. All in all post meal, I was left with wanting more.
The actual space is pretty spacious, nice Brooklyn feel to it, and pretty industrial furniture which I am a big fan of. But to be honest I was left wanting more.
Dear Hello Bklyn,
I fell in love with you at first sight. Besides your attractive and friendly waitstaff, I'm talking to you Alex and Joseph, everything about your restaurant screams Urban, Hip Hop, Art, Uniqueness, Creativity and PASSION… which let's be honest is reflected in the quality and taste of your food and a perfect addition to this South Side Willie B Hood.
Your $25 for unlimited mimosas and two plates is perhaps one of the best brunch deals I have ever witnessed and I wasn't the one having the deal but WILL BE back for it. WAIT and my ultimate favorite thing was the fact that the mimosas are self serve, WHAT? You mean I don't have to pester/wait for waitstaff to bring drinks when I DESPERATELY need it. Also, the self serve coffee with raw brown sugar and almond milk available… unlimited for $3! I would marry you if I wasn't already married… WAIT and the fact that you take reservations for Brunch a near impossible feat in NYC, made me elated since I had a large group of hangry Floridians, Miami natives to be exact.
I was able to try the banana nut muffin with an egg and cheese puree, one bite and I was ready to steal the meal from the husband who isn't even a sweets guy and nearly cut me when I tried to take another bite. NO worries I was pefectly happy with my egg white, bacon, spinach croissant-wich… sooo Deliiiiigthfuly buttery, toasty, and warm. I will and shall be back and this love affair shall continue as I wish your business so much success, hope to see you soon! XOXO…
A Big Fan…

Now I wanted to like Hello Bklyn so much more than I actually could and I'd probably give them another chance since the hospitality was so good. Anyway, since this was a last minute lunch my friend and I got here inbetween brunch and dinner so we waited about 35 minutes for the kitchen to set up, no big deal. We ordered drinks. I don't even remember what we ordered but they were pretty good, not sweet but they got the job done.
Pros: Really good service, the bartender (black guy with the beard) was super nice – I am a stickler for good, friendly customer service so that alone would have been five stars. My burger was great! I ordered the mac and cheese burger and I was so, so full after eating half but I couldn't stop. The fries were seasoned really well and my meal filled me up which is a plus. Prices are reasonable too. Also, the decor is super trendy, all about Brooklyn, Biggie everywhere – I'm here for it. We ordered some banana, nutella, puff pasty dessert that came with this vanilla sauce, amazing. I would put that sauce on anything. Toast, cookies, fruits, my fiancé – anything.
Cons: A little disorganized. They were out of the first two burgers my friend tried to order and then after asking to have her order wrapped to go, they accidentally threw it out. I mean, we got our dessert for free but I was annoyed for her since there was already so much going on with her order. 🙁 They were apologetic but still, you know. Also, not so much a con (depending on who you are) but it gets loud in here. At one point I couldn't even hear my friend over the (good) music and everyone else having to adjust their volume to compensate.
Overall, food was good, hospitality was great, I'd come back for brunch.
Hello Bklyn is a cross between the modern gastropub/craft beer culture with the 90s hip hop scene. This mixture makes the restaurant's location absolutely perfect. It proximate to where many of the most influential hip hop artists of the 90s were born and raised; meanwhile, it's also right in the midst of a gentrifying neighborhood whose new residents have helped bolster the craft beer revival.
The prices are stupidly good. I have no clue how the bar manages to make rent. I was served an Allagash Curieux in a 16 oz mug for $8. At most bars, an 8 oz pour in a snifter is $8-10 depending on the location of the bar. My local craft beer store is extremely competitive on pricing, and they charge just under $25 for a bomber (about 22 oz).
The food is quintessential comfort food. I split a burger with fried mac n cheese with my girlfriend; to clarify, I meant Mac n cheese ON the burger – NOT a side. The burger was very savory. It also had caramelized onions and was on a brioche bun. The burger came with deliciously crispy fries. And best of all: the cost was under $13 bucks. Gastropub quality at Applebee's pricing. What's not to love? My only critique was that I requested the burger to be cooked medium rare, but there was a miscommunication and it came out medium.
The service was attentive and acquiescent. They seemed thankful to have us there for the opportunity to provide an awesome experience.
I love this place! Been here 4 times & counting…
BRUNCH: Their brunch deal is fantastic. $25 gets you a a starter (I recommend the guacamole toast with poached egg that they have, super delicious), an entree (plenty to choose from) and bottomless mimosa of various flavors. really can't beat that deal. I've ordered the caprese sandwich (fresh melted mozzarella, pesto, tomato, sliced sourdough bread), the bacon egg & cheese french toast sandwich (on challah bread with blueberry compote), and the bacon cheeseburger with fried egg. All were very yummy. The mimosas are self-serve! they have two huge things of it on the bar and you just go up and serve yourself. it's awesome. we also had coffee and they didn't charge us for that.
DINNER: I've watched some games here on the big tv's and had some strong basic drinks. I've tried the surf & turf burger (amazing) and the mac & cheese burger (also amazing). I have been here with 1 friend and I have been here in a group of 7-8 people- both times we were taken care of wonderfully. Basically you can't go wrong with this spot.
SETTING: nice big windows with natural light streaming in, current hip hop playing at a normal background volume, high tables with stools. very dope artwork all over the walls. biggie! not really kid-friendly (they don't have a high chair so be wary if you're coming with kids). the service staff was super friendly, fun and sociable. every time i'm there i wind up staying for like 5 or 6 hours. i've met the chef Scott too, who is awesome. oh and they randomly brought us shots on several occasions.
yup. place is awesome. i almost don't want to tell anyone about it cause it's still a gem BUT it's too good to keep to myself!
