meh. go to chikurin on ave M. this place is small, the price is ok, but you get more bang for your buck at chikurin. it says a lot when a place this size isnt even remotely full for dinner.
Here's the thing, before the renovation based on nothing but catering to the style preferences of the psuedoeclectic locals, this was a decent place to eat. The only reason I give 2 stars is because I remember what it used to be. Otherwise, no stars is in the realm of a compliment for what's left of Sachiko. You WILL wait eons for food that's already prepared but needs 40 minutes worth of arts and crafts time to make it stylish enough to take out to your table. Along with inattatentive wait staff and merely OK food, Id recommend you take your hard earned buck elsewhere. And don't order out either, they're all around snoozers. Also, my girlfriend ordered a spicy tuna roll , no crunch. Instead it came with avocado as a means to save on 3 cents of tuna. Cheap. Oh and the wait time for that tuna roll ? 45 minutes. Get it together, guys, its not Reinaissance sculptures we're trying to chow on.
In the end the service still beats Umi a block away. At least they make an effort to be nice.

The prices can't be beaten. $8.75 for oyako don (rice bowl with chicken, eggs, and veggies) with salad and $2.50 for many of the rolls.
Quick, attentive service. Huge serving size, but my chicken was very pink and tasted undercooked, so I maneuvered around it.
I'd give it another go for vegetarian dishes only.
