  1. Nice sports bar atmosphere, great for happy hour drinks or large parties. I was here for a networking event so can't comment on the food. Bottle service was ok, just a bottle of vodka and some juices. Didn't like the fact that the glasses were placed face down on the dirty table.

Love the indoor/outdoor feel when they open the windows on the main level. Staff seemed generally friendly though they seemed a bit slammed. A lot of working professionals here after work. Overall, fun place to hang out.

  2. The French fries and shrimp tacos are delish. That along with the grilled jalapeño peppers with lemon and salt are yummy! The reason my score is a three is because the service is poor and inconsistent. I was very disappointed to have to ask repeatedly for silverware and napkins. And you know that thing that waiters do…oh what is it…uhm provide customer service and pay attention to their tables. Yeah, that doesn't happen much here.

  3. Like someone else below, I am also reviewing Ainsworth Park as an event space rather than as a bar/restaurant. As indicated, Ainsworth Park is definitely much smaller than their Chelsea counterpart (which I visited years ago with a friend for a holiday party…yeeeeeeeears before they blew up for their Mac & cheese burger which I'm still dying to try), with much less TVs and a much warmer, intimate feel.

I was here over the weekend for the NY Best Wings Festival that was co-hosted by Time Out New York Magazine. The event was laid out across the main area and the upstairs seating area and smaller bar were set up as VIP seating and where our gift bags were.

The event was really well organized and the Ainsworth Staff on hand were all friendly, knowledgable and if they didn't know something they at least knew where to find an answer – solutions oriented people can be hard to find, but they very much excelled here.

I did have the pleasure of trying Ainsworth Park's traditional buffalo wings and their BBQ wings. They were both pretty good, but their BBQ wings stood out as a really solid 2nd best out of all the other restaurants on hand.

Definitely looking forward to returning and having a more proper bar/restaurant experience here!

  4. I have been here for a number of events and enjoyed it for the most part each time.  The drinks are good, but main floor's main bar gets overburdened, which can lead to a very annoying wait.  Only sometimes do they have the back bar on the main level open and adequately staffed.

The upstairs bar/room is fun and really has a nice sports bar-lounge feel to it.  Seating all over this place is comfortable.  The ambiance is nice and I love that they open the curtain wall of windows in the summer time.  The hybrid feel of being indoors but enjoying the good weather is perfect.

I am not sure what the scene is like on an average night, but my suspicion is that it is more of a happy-hour place than a nighttime place (unless, of course, there's an event).

Last night's event had quite an array of appetizers, all of which were prepared especially well.  I especially liked the buffalo chicken sandwich and the mac-and-cheese balls.  The sliders were fine, as were the mozzarella sticks and the buffalo and bbq wings.  I would definitely consider coming back here for dinner.

    It's a fun place that I'd recommend.

  5. Drink drinks drinks that's all I had here. Great atmosphere !!! I will come back for a second try !!!!

  6. My daughter and I were talking and thinking about possible places to go one night for dinner. She mentioned that a friend of hers has eaten at Ainsworth Park and raved about their food. I am open to trying new places, so we decided to go and I made reservations for dinner. I called and was kindly informed that one specific location would be closed to the public since they were hosting a private party. I was able to make a reservation at the one near 14th Street Union Square which was perfect since it is close to my daughter's job.

We arrived at Ainsworth Park and was quickly seated. The decor is simple and cozy. We were able to sit by the area which boasts dining tables and an open space so that it gives the illusion that we were dining outside which was nice. We were able to watch a Soccer game on the big flat screen televisions that are near the dining tables. The only issue that I had with this was that our flat screen tv was in black and white and everyone else's screens was in color. There was a group of people celebrating someone's birthday at the table behind us. They were rather loud and demanded free drinks and complaining about the customer service they received. This which disturbed our great time (until they left the restaurant) and the black and white TV caused me to give this place a 4 instead of 5.

The hostess served as our waitress and I believe that we were provided with great customer service. The Mac and Cheese Burger with french fries ($17) was absolutely delicious and worth every bite! I would definitely go back because it has a cool vibe and the food was good.

  7. Ok. So Ive been dying to come here for MONTHS. Finally, I go on a Thursday night at 7. They ID you when you walk in. Its pretty packed, sports games and such. I sit with a group of 7, but they were pretty unaccomodating about our table space and we were all squished. The bar was incredibly loud, do not recommend going for a casual meal in prime time.

So I'm sure you're aware of their mac and cheese burger. Well, thats obviously why I went. My review: experience over taste. The bun: AMAZING. The mac and cheese: subpar. Burger: decent. Fried and mac and cheese: delicious. French fries were not as good as they look but presentation was nice, a lot of other options- vegeterian and gluten free.

Desserts were also amazing. We got the brownie sundae and it was nothing short of a mouthgasm.

  8. I came here for drinks and snacks on a Wednesday night. The bar was full, so we sat at a high table. Servers were very friendly but the food was very mediocre and the drinks overpriced. They do have a great thing going in terms of venue – the side of the restaurant on 18th street opens up when the weather is nice so there's a great indoor/outdoor vibe.
