Just a quick update.
My Dad, son and I stopped in the other day for lunch following a nice morning of birding in Bayonne. Service was attentive as usual. The food was quite good. My burger, much to my surprise, was cooked rare, as I requested. And this time, the fries were crispy rather than anemic as previously described.

Houlihan's is our go-to if the other choices in the area is question mark. I know what to expect and they're fairly consistent. We travel around a lot for soccer and we gotta eat.
The chicken wings Asian style were really good! Crispy crunchy skin and the sauce was well balanced. My wife's Prime Rib was tender and flavorful and came with soup and sides. Son's burger was good – hits the spot. My fish tacos were very good – served with nachos and sauce.
23 ounce draft beers are only a buck more. Always reliable – that's an extra Star.
I was here for a to-go meal, but my 15 minutes stay left a good impression on me. The hostess near the door was super sweet. She helped me decide what I should get and placed my order right way. But this is what left a good impression on me. After placing my order, I sat on one of the benches they have near the entrance for anyone waiting for their to-go meal There was a creepy guy trying, seriously trying, to get this girl's number. The girl told the guy politely that she does not give out her number to strangers. Hostess quietly went inside the restuarant to get the manager. She told the manager that there was a girl being harassed. The manager came right away. By that time the guy had already left after hearing his maximum number of "no". I thought that was awesome the hostess noticed the girl was uncomfortable and went to get the manager. I didn't go inside the restuarant but from the waiting area in the front, they place was pretty clean. It's near the river so I can imagine how nice it would be to dine here during the warm seasons. Definitely would go back this summer to enjoy the view. Oh the food was good!
Pretty good food and great service overall. I enjoy the new york strip pretty juicy.

Always liked the stuffed shrooms. Something about the Pot roast dinner reminds me of home. Service could be a bit friendlier though.
Besides Cheesecake Factory, houlihans is the only other chain restaurant that I would probably frequent. When I can't decide where I want to go, I find myself at this houlihans location. Its close to my house and the service and food does not disappoint.
What I usually like about houlihans is that they have options of small plates and healthier meals. I always opt for the small plate of salmon with mash potatoes and veggies. The salmon is cooked to perfection and the mash and veggies are really good. If I feel like being a pig I'll order some of my favorite appetizers which includes the Thai chicken wings, loaded fries, and bruschetta. I'll usually catch a case of the itis but it's well worth it for a pig out session. The loaded fries are so good and it comes with this amazing ranch sauce. They have a pretty extensive menu of everything you can imagine if you're in the mood for something else. I recommend to not order any cocktails top shelf because the server told me that they use the wells liquor anyway. What an honest server!
This location is in a shopping center so there's plenty of parking space. It's next to the theater so it's a good option for a pre or post meal. The employees are on point and the food is actually really good.

My boyfriend and I usually order the same thing everywhere we go: chicken fingers for me and fried shrimp for him. I convinced him we had to break the habit so I ordered the seared scallops on risotto while he had their jambalaya. I'm glad we did because the food was great.
The seared scallops were really yummy, they were cooked perfect. The risotto was a little heavy. It had a good flavor, but the creamy sauce it was mixed in was a little too flavorful, which made it hard to eat without clearing the flavor with a drink. I did NOT eat the baby spinach that topped the dish, because it tasted like its been sitting in the crisper longer than it should have. I kept calling it grass. The basil infused olive oil that was drizzled around the risotto was really yummy. Right next to the oliveoil was red wine vinegar, which i didn't like at all. I guess the two were for my grass? There was no way to avoid the vinegar.
My boyfriend's jambalaya was really tasty. I had low expectations for it, but it was really good. I was crossing my fingers that the sauce didn't have a marinara taste to it–and it didn't. There were pieces of chicken, shrimp, and sausage in the jambalaya as well as peppers and onions.
Overall a great dinner and decently priced. Next time I'll be ordering the jambalaya!
Open late! Seated quickly. Inside is spacious and clean. Waiters are moderately paced but do not care much to check on you. Service was alright, honestly, it could have been the night I went or the service team I received. Food is alright, tastes and feels greasy but more what could you expect from another chain restaurant.
