Views, atmosphere, top-notch service, FOOD – oh the food. This place hits all of the nails on the head. We arrived a little early for our reservation on purpose so we could grab a drink on the roof and take in the NYC skyline. The drinks were very inventive and delicious (and dangerous lol). We hung out for a while sipping cocktails and admiring the view between the city and the hudson.
When our table was ready we headed back down the elevator to the dining room. It has a very cozy but sophisticated feel. Our server was on point. She knew the menu inside and out and had great recommendations for all courses along with wine pairings. The menu changes a bit it appears but when we went we started with the grilled octopus and the tuna tar tar – both delicious and presented very well. For main, I went with the duck breast. oh.. my.. tender. This was so so delicious, so much so that if I ever go back I am afraid I won't be able t bring myself to try anything else! Highly recommend!
The entire evening was one to remember – definitely a great dining experience from start to finish. Great for romantic date night or even a classy night out with friends!
This place is stellar! I came across it on some sites stating that it had delicious, sustainable food, and boy were they right! My mom and I made a reservation for a Saturday night and were seated right away. The menu isn't huge, but it has just the right amount of appetizers and mains to satisfy any palate. We each ordered an appetizer of Burrata and bread and mains of Halibut and Roasted Cauliflower. The food and accompaniments tasted fresh and flavorful. It was very evident in the dishes that the ingredients were farm to table!
It's located inside the Ink48 hotel, so it is off the beaten path a bit. The ambience is very trendy feeling, but the tile floors make for a loud space. We had a few groups of people around us that were rather loud, so it was difficult to hear each other at times. The wait stuff was wonderful though, our server was incredibly friendly and knowledge. She recommended us some perfectly paired glasses of wine along with dessert.
Overall, this place is really wonderful if you're looking for a healthy and hearty meal. It is pricey, but well worth it. They even have a lounge upstairs with amazing views of the city, so it's worth doing a drink there afterwards!
Decent food and an amazing ambiance. This is one of the nicer date night spots this far west in midtown.
We came here on a Saturday night wanting to grab dinner before heading upstairs to the Press Lounge. We had a reservation but were still made to wait for almost 45 minutes before we got our table. Not a good start.
The food here was okay, nothing too special. They say they are farm to table and the dishes have a simple elegance about them, but nothing was delicious or memorable. I got the duck breast which I asked for medium well but it came out under done. I've had better.
The service is okay, they were to the point without being very warm or friendly.
Three stars mainly for the ambiance. Next time I'll head straight upstairs to the lounge.
Woohoo! As good as it gets!
Ambience- so classy, yet so comfortable. It almost felt like a living room of a posh mansion- everyone seemed very relaxed, even on a Monday evening.
Service- top notch. Our waiter always provided impeccable service, and the manager came around a couple times as well to chat lightly.
For appetizer, we got the grilled octopus while for our entrees, we ordered the Pistachio Crusted Fluke and Roasted Normandy Duck Breast.
The grilled octopus was indeed spectacular, but not out of this world – although the sauce was perfectly tangy and original, the octopus itself was a tad too chewy for my taste (I like the kind that almost melts in your mouth).
I ordered the duck, but I made it a point to try the pistachio crusted fluke because crunchy pistachios on top of a mouthwatering, soft fluke filet sounded like the perfect combination- and it was! P.S. the flower is edible.
As for the duck, it was possibly the best duck dish I have ever had (and trust me, I've had quite a a lot!). Did you know that grape fruits and kumquats go phenomenally well with duck? Well they do! As silly as it sounds, I found myself savoring and even looking forward to the burst of flavor that these tangy fruits contributed.
For dessert, we got the banana pudding – it comes with espresso ice cream and real bananas that prevent you from feeling overpowered by the sweetness.
Would love to return:)
OH MY GOODNESS! I cannot say enough about this place! Everything was amazing! The food, the staff, the drinks, the view! My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and it was just the most perfect evening. I had the steak and I believe he had the short rib. (The do charge you for bread on the table, which we thought was a little weird.) We had a window seat and a few people were going to the club across the street and were leaning on the window while they waited. Like hardcore blocking the sun, ass in my face lol. The manager, Renia, was amazing. She went outside and politely asked them to move. She came back to us and apologized. Our waitress, Ruby, also amazing! Honestly, I don't have a single bad thing to say about this place! Everyone was very professional! After dinner…and dessert of course, Ruby escorted us over to the elevator where we took it to the rooftop to watch the most beautiful sunset. The rooftop is big, and had a good amount of people up there but was not all all uncomfortably crowded. There wasn't a bad view up there. Everything about this place was perfect. I can't wait to go back!
3.75/5
Came by on a Saturday night for dinner. Definitely a great ambience for date night! Classy space, friendly service, and good (but pricey) food. The lounge area wasn't open the night we went unfortunately, but that would have been neat to check out.
We ordered the bread and assorted butter, the octopus, and the gnocchi as our appetizers. We got the bread because we were craving it but the restaurant didn't provide any complimentary 🙁 the "assorted" butter ended up being just two kinds – normal and a sheep milk(?) kind. Underwhelming.
Octopus was very good though. I really liked how it was made by with a good amount of greens and chickpeas – it not only made me feel healthier but also tasted great. Lemony and refreshing.
Gnocchi though was AMAZING. Super cheesy in flavor (made with goat cheese) and creamy in texture. Loved this one.
For our main course we got the roasted duck breast. This was okay. I felt like there was just a million things going – orange slices, apricots, almonds, and a pile of bitter tasting veggies. Duck itself was pretty good, nice and juicy, but the rest of the dish just seemed random and distracting.
Overall it was a good experience. Service was good, and ambience of was really nice. Large selection of menu items. I would probably come back another time when the outdoor lounge is open to enjoy some views!
Yes… amazing views… and some of the best service I have ever seen in NYC. But this place gets only 4 stars due to difficult to get to location and its insane amount of crowdedness. If you come here, plan on at least 15 to 30 min and 15 min to exit.
Oh and there a masses of tourists who come here just to take photo after photo after photo.
There $20 cocktails are creative, but just as good as a $10 cocktail a block over. $12 Beers that would be $5 everywhere else.
They definitely do make up for it in cleanliness, service, and ambience… but just know what you are getting yourself into.
Ambience: 10/10
Food: 10/10; fresh and delicious
Service: 10/10, Orlando was literally one of the best managers I've ever come across in my dining adventures.
If I could give this place 10 stars on Yelp, I would! I randomly found this place on Yelp, of course! We were in Lincoln Center when I found this place and walked about 25/30 min to get here. It was absolutely worth the walk. We were immediately seated. It took a little while for the waiter to get our drink orders, but nothing too outrageous. About 5 minutes into waiting for our drink orders, Orlando came to our table and asked if we had been helped. I told him we had ordered drinks and we're just waiting. He immediately brought the wine that my friend had ordered. My mocktail took some time to make, but he made sure it was coming to me. He even allowed me to charge my dying cell phone, which was crucial in my navigation of the city after dinner.
We started dinner with an asparagus flan, which I've never even heard of. It was delicious and unique. My sister had the pistachio encrusted halibut, which was perfectly cooked. She said it was the best meal she had on this trip. Pretty amazing, since we are out for every single meal. I had the braised short rib, it was tender and very flavorful. My friend had a vegetarian dish that had lots of peas and greens. She loved it and raved about how flavorful it was.
After dinner, we made our was to the Press, just in time for the sunset. It was very busy, no place to sit outside. The inside had plenty of room. We watched one of the prettiest sunsets I've ever seen.
I just want to note that Orlando, the manager was exceptional. I felt like he had mistaken me for someone important. He made this one of the most memorable nights in NYC for us!
