  1. Looking for lunch on a weekday in Jersey City?  Wearing a suit?  You'll fit right in at Markers.  Good service and decent food.  Sandwiches are served in faux-newspapers.  I had the falafel sandwich, which had a tasty cream sauce alongside somewhat dry falafel.

  2. I wouldn't know about the table service, but for a quick and convenient lunch/early dinner at work, Markers really can't be beat.

Located in Plaza 2 of the Harborside Financial Center on the waterfront, it's a laid-back bar/restaurant that caters mostly to office workers. Since it's just at the other end of the building, it's become a popular choice for my office. Prices are about what you'd expect for the locale, but the food quality is up to par.

And, when it comes to a bargain, their sliders fit the bill. Three sizeable (we're talking at least 3oz) patties with toppings on bread for $7. The twisted turkey sliders can fuel an addiction: ground turkey topped with melted havarti, jalapeno-candied bacon, and a creamy artichoke sauce on a soft bun.

  3. eaten here twice, and I definitely recommend the salads! as everyone else has mentioned, they are pretty awesome!  chicken tenders are great, but the New England clam chowder was a bit of a miss.
I look forward to returning to try the rest of the menu.
I have to admit walking in during lunch, it's kinda dim sop when you walk out, it feels like you've woken from a nap.

  4. came here on a Thursday night for dinner with a livingsocial voucher. The service was very attentive and we subbed out the wine/beer with iced tea and the waitress brought us refills whenever the glass was empty.

we shared an order of 3 chicken sliders ($6) sooo good!! crispy chicken with a bit of kick, and lettuce/mayo. definitely a great app.

For entree, I got the Chargrilled Teryaki Mahi Mahi $18 with Citrus Salsa (orange and grape fruit whole pieces), Steamed White Rice, Teriyaki Sauce, Radish Sprouts, Roasted Squash and Zucchini. It was healthy and pretty tasty. It's just that I don't love the mahi mahi texture ( a bit dry and not as tender as I prefer my fish) but it was a nice big portion.

Friend's Ahi Tuna Salad $16 was amazing. Seared Rare, Asian Lettuce Mix, Edamame, Mandarin Oranges, Radishes, Scallions, Crispy Wontons, Sesame Seeds, Tossed in a Wasabi Ginger Vinaigrette. There were about 6 slices of tuna and lots of veggies.  I really liked the dressing.  would get this again.

There was a huge happy hour (professionals) crowd at the bar when we arrived and music was loud, so we had to scream a bit to talk, but around 9pm, the place started to empty out a bit.

  5. Marker's is definitely a great go to place to grab a bit to eat and toss a few drinks back before heading home. It is right outside the PATH train of Exchange place.

We went yesterday for dinner after 8:00 pm and the place was full. Everyone there seemed to be enjoying their meal and drinks. So I ordered the Lemon & Herb Roasted Chicken:  Semi Boneless Half Chicken, Sauteed Garlic Green Beans, Whipped Mashed Potatoes, Roasted Garlic Jus. I cleaned my plate that's how good it was and our waiter was great.

I'm going back without a doubt.

  6. A fan of their food and their happy hour, $5 drink specials. Also they have pretty hilarious signs outside their doorsteps sometimes.

Their sliders are yummy. If you come during lunch and order a salad, don't expect to finish it because it's humongous. Their burgers can be cooked to your preference and they usually do a pretty decent job. The fries are also very good, appetizers during happy hour are also a crowd pleaser. I do love their chicken wings as well! But a weak wait staff though…they're friendly but forgetful. Almost everything I've come here for lunch (the last three times I remember) they tend to either forget or mess up a order in some way. They're quick to correct if you point it out and apologetic so at least they're trying, I can imagine serving multiple tables during crazy lunch hour can't be easy. It's close to my office, so I'll frequent this place.

  7. Markers is a fan favorite at Exchange Place. You will find the restaurant packed during weekday lunch hours. I've been here plenty of times, and have never been disappointed!

Markers salads are delicious (the unhealthy way)! I've had their seared tuna, buffalo chicken, and BBQ chicken. No disappointments! Their sandwiches are equally as satisfying, and big enough for you to take home.

It's also a great place to get drinks with coworkers after work. Definitely a solid spot.

  8. In short: Geniunely good lunch food options with terrible customer service.

We liked the outdoor seating and the interior is very spacious too. After ordering, we waited nearly 45 to 50 minutes for an ahi tuna salad, a burger and monster nachos. Holy slowness.

If they could speed up their food service and their staff were just a little more attentive, this place could be better rated.
