  1. Finally had the chance to try this place out!

I just got the regular hot dog (with mustard). And to my surprise it wasn't too heavy and it didn't leave my tummy all bloated or excessively full. We also got the chili cheese fries which were yummy as well. I def liked the onion rings though! If I had to pick between the fries and rings…I'll choose rings.

My dad was actually the one who went to location to buy the food but he said everyone there was super nice and friendly. Which is always a plus!

I'll be back for some more hot dogs next time!

  2. Best hot dog in town!  When you walk in, make sure you have cash on you. It's cash only!
When you enter from the street side (left door) is strictly for pick up.  Right door is to enter and stay for a drink or two.  Not your usual modern bar as it's supposed to resemble a roadstand to some degrees.  It's very simple.  You order, you pay, you eat then leave.  Don't expect super service but if you want the best hot dog, chilli dog or cheese fries, you've got thr right place.

  3. This place has always been, and will continue to be, amazing. Nostalgia filled, hot and delicious food. Juicy burgers, awesome hot dogs, cheese fries, birch beer on tap. What more could you want when you crave something comforting? Everyone is friendly, it's like you're stopping at home and that home is cooking up some seriously good eats. This is pure American fine dining!

  4. Hiram's is an absolute classic. The food is always good, the dogs are plump, hot, and delicious and as a personal favorite, the buns are always toasted, which I'm certain makes them taste even better. Add in a beer and you're good to go.

The outside seating area is perfect. There are plenty of picnic tables for you and friends.

  5. Quick, cheap, friendly and heavy. Perfect for a roadside restaurant.

Fries and hot dogs. Expected it to be made and served fast. Speed of cashier and cook did not disappoint. Fries and hot dogs, topped with cheese and chili? Expected it to be heavy and hit that crave spot. Again, did not disappoint. Fries, though drenched in melted cheese, maintain its crisp. Hot dogs were not salty and the chili topping was also not overly salty. This combo is usually inedible else where. Can feel your eyes swell up as you eat, but not at Hiram. And you get all of this at a low, low price. Drinks too, draft MGD, a buck or two  depending on size. Super friendly service too.

Seating inside or outside with picnic tables on grass. Be better with a bit more shade, really this is the only "problem" I can think of.

  6. Awesome hot dogs at a great price. $3/$3.50 beers is a plus (even cheaper for draft). And fast service too. They're so good, easily the best in the area. I just wish that chili dogs and chili cheese fries were healthy enough for me to eat more regularly!

  7. The power of hot dogs… I love it. I used to come here more often when I lived in Palisades Park. They have outstanding dogs that will make your fat cravings dissolve. Last night I drove all the way from Union City to Cliffside Park for a buffet party and open bar. Guess what? They run out food. Now the dilemma started where to go to satisfy my hunger? Easy answer: Hiram's Roadstand. They serve your food quickly. 10 min tops. In the mood for beer? Order up! They have miller lite, bud, heineken. They should add a craft beer though. The dogs are introduced on a paper plate. Golden, perfectly deep fried, and bigger than the bun. You get the point. Add some cheese fries and you are in business. So fatty yet so delicious. I'm glad the place I went first had no food left because I realize that hot dogs can save the day. Dog out.

  8. I had been waiting to go to Hiram's for two years now and the opportunity finally presented itself. I love a good dog…and dammit, Hiram's is probably right up in my top five after a visit of epic proportions.

My co-worker and I had no idea how big the dogs were here and we each ordered three. I had a chili-cheese, a chili-kraut-onions-mustard, and a plain chili…and onion rings and a birch beer.  I didn't need to eat again until lunch the following day.  I live that they toast the buns here…a very nice touch. The chili is very good, not too sweet, a great addition to these great hot dogs.  The onion rings at Hiram's were quite possibly the best I've had at a hot dog joint.

    Can't wait to go back…
