  1. Wow.  No one has written a review on this place yet!

    I'm surprised.

This is a really nice neighborhood bar.

Nothing fancy.  Just a good place to hang out, and watch some sports.

The bartenders are all nice guys, and the regulars are chatty, once you get to know them a little bit.

They have recently (in the last year) installed several flat panel TV's and it's a great deal for well made drinks, or beer.
Great to hang out and watch the Yankees or Football.

The other thing that I really like about this place, is that they have a decent restaurant connected to it, in the back.

Small, (7 to 10 tables) with a fireplace, but really decent food for the money, and always have good specials that are usually good value.

I like to get the stuffed mushrooms as an app, along with any standard dinner.  They always give you a nice basket with bread and a great house salad as a starter.

They do a decent brunch, and it's just a nice place to relax with a group of say up to 4 people.

This place has been around for about 50 years.  I'm sure it will be around for 50 more.

  2. I don't know what kind of cheddar they use, but the cheddar they use is the best in the city.

Come here for homey bar food – and always get food that has some cheddar on it such as the cheddar bacon burger with some cheddar doused fries. It's delicious.

  3. Nice little place for brunch.

Came here with friends after doing the Hoban Memorial Run (which was great).  Had heard good things about the brunch here and we were not disappointed.

The bar up front was empty at 12:30 when we walked in and we were the only tables in the restaurant part in the back.  The place did fill up as our meal progressed.

The delightful waitress brought us some fresh-baked muffins which were outstanding.  There were a couple of different kinds and they were all great.  Two of us had eggs benedict, which were good.  The sauce was much lighter than what you're used to, but it was good and I didn't have that gluttonous feeling I often do after eating EB.  The other person had the French Toast, with a side of bacon. Both portions were very generous.   Everybody cleaned their plates.

Oh, and brunch comes with a drink.  We all had bloody marys and they were very horse-radishy, which is the way I like it.  Coffee was good too.   They really aren't set up for kids as they don't have any plastic cups (the toddler with us drink milk out of a large shot glass, which seemed a little off), but otherwise, it was pretty kid friendly as there was another toddler there by the time we left (and there was room to park both strollers).

Definitely a place worth checking out for good food and friendly service.

  4. We had a great time here! Came here while they have the Mets game on. Seems like the whole bar is Mets fans.
The bartender was super friendly. He gave us beer on the house too.

We ordered their buffalo wings and their onion blossom,  which is a whole onion battered and fried. Their food took nearly 50 minutes to come out. But it was pretty good. The wings were pretty good when it first came out. Very crispy on the outside. After a while it got a bit soggy but I guess that's with all the fried food. The onion blossom was pretty awesome. Much better than your regular onion rings

Overall, friendly bartender. Will be back again if we get a chance

  5. When I walked in here Wednesday night the place was fairly dead, but that worked out because we weren't looking to be elbow to elbow and have to scream over groves of people.

The regulars there seem to be fairly easy going people, and Dennis, the bar keep we good about keeping us topped off.

This will most likely be on my list of spots to hit if I want to go out to relax over a drink or two.

  6. Classic old style Irish bar. Great workers, family owned.

    Brunch on Sundays from 12-3pm.

Food is delicious and super fresh! I enjoy everything I get here. The stuffed mushrooms are huge and look so good and I hear no complaints. (not a mushroom fan, eekkk) The baked clams are really good and I love lots of lemon on them too. I had the chicken franchise which came with veggies and mash which was so good, I love sour and the lemon with the wine was just a perfect mix. Mash were soft and the veggies too.  The bf got the dublin broil with veggies and that was good loved the gravy sauce. Then my other company had them the shepherds pie which was super hot and big, straight out the oven! Shrimp scampi which was really good too with pasta.

Everything we ordered and had was just so good. I come back to this place regularly cause I love the people who work here and the food is always good and its a small little place in the nice neighborhood of Bay Ridge which has plenty of little shops and places to wine and dine. Then after dinner you can enjoy a nice drink or beer at the bar and you have a cash jukebox you can enjoy some old school music or now music.  Prices are pretty good too but like I always say its all bout the customer service and these people are really good at that!
