To be honest, Schiller's food & drinks aren't anything spectacular but they are consistently good. For that, I am a fan. I always love coming here & usually prefer to sit at the bar. It's a cute spot with no frills. During my most recent visit for brunch we ordered the biscuits & gravy and the french toast – both were delicious but I really recommend the french toast, especially if this is something you don't usually eat. It has a crunchy outside & delicious, dough-ey inside. Plus it comes with amazzzzzing bourbon maple syrup and a pile of fresh fruit! We also ordered some delicious, strong bloody mary's. The menu isn't very extensive and there is a decent selection of cocktails. If you want a low key, casual place to eat be sure to visit Schiller's.
Pretty spacious place that feels more like a restaurant than a bar. A decent sized menu with food for just about any time of the day.
The place was pretty empty at noon. Room was airy, clean and well lit. Restrooms where nice with pretty cool accents. Nothing exciting but it was an enjoyable atmosphere.
The service was pretty good with three staff members on the floor. Everyone seemed to know what to do and when so it was pretty smooth all the way through lunch.
The burger was pretty good though the "double patty" isn't exactly that. It's more like one patty split into two. Not a lot of meat, the whole burger was pretty small. The fries where pretty tasty and a good portion size.
For 17$ I expected a much bigger burger. The flavor I cannot complain about because it was one of the better meals I've had.
Would recommend for a linner. Lunch seems awkward and I wouldn't eat at a bar for dinner. Not a family place but bring a friend.
Love this place!!! Been here several times now and the atmosphere is great. They do have a new chef. It was good but not as spicy and I loved the spice/taste it usel to have! The drinks are still great!!! Especially the sangria, it's amazing!
Love the place and will be back!
Got a very nice reply from the management today.
I really appreciate a restaurant who cares enough about their customers to reply to reviews.
Next time I will ask for more spice and believe me, there will be a next, and a next and a next because this is one of my favorites in LES.
I've been here for brunch and also ordered from here via postmates.
I think, like most meals, foods taste better in person than delivery. Service wise, it's a bit slow, the waiter forgot to bring sauce for my meal, was slow with water refills etc. However they were polite etc. so you can't really complain.
Food-wise, their béchamel sauce was one of the best I've ever had. The Mac and cheese was disappointing (we thought of adding the béchamel to the Mac and cheese!). Otherwise brunch is standard.
Delivery – food arrived decently warm, presentation was lacking but the salmon was nicely cooked as was the burger.
I'm not certain I'd go back, given the abundance of brunch spots in the city; however, if you're in the area, it's worth stopping by.
Not a great experience here tonight.
We started off ordering drinks and my girlfriend's sangria was really bad. She normally just deals with it when she gets a bad drink but this one was undrinkable (I unfortunately tried it). The other cocktails that were ordered by the couple we were with were just mediocre
For dinner I got the brisket sandwich. The meat was way too fatty and ruined the sandwhich. My girlfriend and her friend both got the fish taco's and they were ok but nothing to write home about.
The worst part about the dining experience was the fact that our waitress was basically non existent. At one point after she dropped off the food, I had to flag down another waitress just to get a napkin because we hadn't seen her in over 10 min
Lastly, the place is hot as heck and there are tons of flys hanging around. Won't be back for a second visit
Originally went to Freeman's for brunch around 4 and was told they were closing up but recommended Schiller's since they do brunch until 5 on Sunday. We'll they definitely pointed us in the right direction.
I ordered the steak and eggs and my GF ordered their breakfast. Service was quick and easy and the overall feel of the place is clean and homey. Plenty of natural lighting and you can actually hold a convo here without screaming! Score there.
Brunch and Munch!
Schillers liquor bar has a lot of character with an old school theme that has a great menu of food and drinks.
When I got in here with my buddy we picked out a table, took a seat, and was quickly greeted by our nice waitress. I got a coffee and we both got avocado toast which was amazingggggggggg!
The avocado toast had a crunchy bread with the smooth creamy avocado topped with poached eggs which when it breaks the goeyness just drips over the toast and makes every bite taste so good. In addition we got the nachos which were so cheesy and made just right. The coffee was strong and delicious too.
In short:
– Great for Brunch
– Avovado toast is where its at
– Friendly wait staff
Went out here last night for drinks. Service was great and drinks were strong and tasty. Good prices especially for the area. Atmosphere is nice too; feels warm and lush. Thumbs up
