This place is amazing for brunch, and I'm looking forward to dinner here soon. The brunch menu has all the southern comfort you could ask for at your finger tips. The Chicken and Waffles is good but the Salmon Croquettes and grits was everything. The large chairs and decor is very comfy in a old homey library that of feel. In the back there are larger tables for groups. I overall loved the experience here. I'll be coming back for date night.
Lovely, cozy spot to chill with friends and/or family!
Really enjoyed the laid back vibe of this place. Bedford Hall is right in the thick of Bed-Stuy. The staff is super attentive and knowledgeable.
The crowd is also pretty cool. Everyone is just laid back and chilling at this spot. The pricing is also pretty good. My friend and I ordered waffle fries and two orders of wings (buffalo and chipotle) to share. We also had a drink each which all tasted amazing! The bill came out to a little under $44 total. 🙂
We chatted with a couple cute dudes who were sitting next to us near the end of the night.
I am planning to come back here as soon as I get a chance! I definetly recommend this place.
Changes. Don Draper says they are neither good nor bad. They just are. Well he hasn't been to Bedford Hall.
When Bedford Hall first opened I was in love with it. The food was amazing. They had great cocktails. Everything was great.
I don't know what happened, but they changed. The menu isn't the same. The cocktails suck. The whole vibe is different.
It's still a cool place to come to for a beer or two. The decor and setting is quite nice, but I wouldn't get too attached. Sad to see them go downhill.
Very relaxed vibe. Soooo, comfortable. No stress. Game to play. shuffle board, pool etc. great for hanging with friends and drinking.
Omg! We are waiting for our food and we saw a mouse running back and forth in the back section!!!!
I'll finish my review later, but that needed to be said…
We arrive and we are immediately seated in the dimly lit back area. Nice ambiance, but it's oddly quiet… fast forward about 20 minutes after we are seated (and we are still waiting to place our order) my cousin said she saw a mouse running up the stairs behind me… I turned and didn't see anything, but now I'm on alert… Our waitress comes and we tell her about the mouse and she just looks at us dumbfounded, but offers no comforting words or relocation. So we ask about the Ladies Night special and she seems to have no idea what we were talking about. In fact, it's not posted any where in the restaurant that Thursday is Ladies Night (which offers an array of $5 drinks and $5 appetizers). Had we not seen it posted on their social media account, we wouldn't have known. We show her the posting on Instagram and she goes "Well then I guess tonight is Ladies Night!" Huh??? We proceed to place our order and wait… and wait… and wait… during our wait, I couldn't get comfortable because all I could think about was this mouse running across my feet. At this point I'm sitting at an angle and keeping an eye on the area the mouse was spotted and sure enough, he comes out and runs back and forth a few times. At that point, I jump up and demand to be seated in the front.
The wait staff in the front was way more attentive and knowledgeable of the menu.
The food was decent… as were the drinks.
That mouse though……. *cringe*
Came here with a few friends after an event to grab some drinks. What a lively bar in The Stuy. What's Noticeable upon entry is the lounge like atmosphere. They tables are set up to accommodate large groups. Many of them are low tables with couches and love seats around them. Very comfortable setting for drinks and conversation with friends. Another thing that was memorable was the music. I'm very picky when it comes to my Hip-Hop tunes and I liked everything that they played.
The food: I had the honey chipotle wings. There's were easily better than your standard bar wings. The honey chipotle sauce is tangy and flavorful, not spicy like I usually prefer but their not being billed as spicy. I added some buffalo sauce to them which gave me the sweat heat I was looking for. I also had a few French fries from my friends plate and there were also good. It's obvious that Bedford hall strives to offer food that is a cut above what you would expect to find at your local watering hole.
Solid 4 stars with all the right things in place to potentially become a 5 star in my book. Considering the fact that I'm moving to this area soon I can see this place become my go to local food/drink spot. More thoughts on the menu coming soon.
So i had heard about a bar/lounge that had the look of a former bookstore so this was my chance to check it out.
The look is nice. Bookshelves line the walls with all types of books and board games (which i never got a chance to find out if they were playable).
The drinks were ok And The food was great. They spared no expense in making sure the food tasted great and it did. I recommend if you visit try the steak tips.
My only grip with the place was the lack of space for the sitting patrons. If you were seated at the table it was inevitable that your elbow would hit someone elses, and the wait to get the waiters attention. Even thought there was only 2 working it might have been 10 people in the general area of where i was and we all felt the same.
This place receives 4 stars solely on decor and ambiance. The drinks were also good, but it's really hard to mess up whiskey and ginger ale. I'll update my review when I try the food!
