This is a sweet spot. It seemed like a locals spot more than anything. It was small, but comfortable and welcoming. My husband and I stopped in for a drink and appetizer. We ordered Buffalo Chicken Dip which was delicious, a "shot of Patron (very gracious with the pour, and a beer. There was one waitress, she was pretty attentive, as was the hostess. If you want a cozy spot amid Hell's Kitchen, this will do the trick.
A little it of a dive bar with tvs for sport viewing. A number of beers on tap with food available.
Their ipa was hoppy, but with a strong fruit flavor which was interesting.
This place is solid. Have a good selection of beer with something for everyone. We only ordered the nachos to eat and they were decent. Wasn't blown away but also wasn't dissatisfied.
Came here this past weekend with friends after hearing their good reviews of it. So happy I checked it out. After my recent disappointment with Heartland Brewery, I've been on the lookout for a new midtown location that I can bring out-of-town family and friends for a good meal that won't break the bank. Happy to say that House of Brews easily fills that spot for me.
It is a quaint pub with both downstairs and upstairs seating. It is spacious and features a game room near the restrooms in the back. The atmosphere is low-key, warm and inviting. Nothing fancy, but certainly not a dive by any means. Just a nice, classic pub feel.
For food I tried the preztle sticks with beer cheese appetizer (OMG this is a must! Soooo good) and for my entrée I got the pulled pork sliders w/ mac n' cheese. I can't begin to tell you how flavorful and hearty it was. Very filling and so delicious. Had a Koppaberg pear cider to wash it down with.
The service was very friendly and attentive too. Every staff I encountered has a smile and seemed eager to please. Our waitress regularly checked in on us and refilled our water.
The price is a bit on the high side, especially for some of the beer, but it's standard pricing for establishments in the neighborhood. That said, I do think you get your bang for your buck because the food is quite good.
Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a nice low-key joint away from the hustle n' bustle of Times Square, but still in easy walking distance to midtown.
Looking forward to coming back here and sampling more from the menu.
Great location, Good selection and good service. The $5 happy hour is always nice and convenient, the food is good too. Come check it out. I'll be back on my next trip.
We came here to House Of Brews after we tried another place that was full… And I'm GLAD we did!!! I was shockingly surprised how empty this place was for a Friday night around 7:30pm. After being surrounded by millions of people all day, it was refreshing to have some space to ourselves!
We sat downstairs. They had numerous TVs and put the Yankees game on for us! (Kind of surprised they did not already have it on.)
Our server was nice. Friendly and attentive. Food came out quick.
I went with the loaded nachos. $13. The portion was good- not too big, not too small. Tri-colored tortilla chips topped with chili, cheese, pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream. Good amount of toppings to chips. My mom got the fish and chips. $18. She said it was fantastic! I don't eat fish so I can't comment on it but I sampled a fry and they were great! They had a batter coating on them- love that!
As for drinks, they had a great selection! I went with a bottle of Coney Island Mermaid Pilsner. $7
I'd definitely recommend this place! Quite and quaint!
My buddy lives in Hell's Kitchen so this is kind of close for beer. They have a lot of taps but it's pretty basic. NY is going through a craft beer Renaissance right now and the line up is something you'd find at a higher end Applebee's, a little disappointing for a place that sells itself as a craft beer bar.
However, I will say that the service here is pretty good. Our bartender-we were on the 2nd floor was pretty friendly in that jaded NYC bartender way. She was pretty tired of the music playing-which confused us as well, it was like if there were two DJs, one for a laid back bar where you can talk to friends and one was a DJ at a Vegas nightclub on New Year's Eve. It'll do the trick if you're in the area.

We came to this Irish sports bar to watch the Rockefeller Tree Lighting Ceremony. The place is small with a low ceiling but it felt cozy. The long bar doesn't leave too much room for standing around. I had 3 Markers Mark ($11 Each). They were a decent size pour. The bartenders had accents and were friendly and playful which was a nice change of pace.
