Wanted to stroll down memory lane today when visiting the Island. Jody's was my first choice. I have spent many nights here in my youth.
This is a nice neighborhood pub/sports bar. It reminds me of going to Cheers where every body knows your name. True story, I met up with two people that I haven't seen in about 10 years.
Came here earlier today with my brother to catch a little playoff football. We arrived at about 12:15 and was able to grab two spots at the bar. After catching up with old friends for awhile, we ordered a couple of Bloody Marys before the start of the game.
Jody's Club Forest opened in 1976. It was one of the first bars on Staten Island to have DirectTV so the patrons could watch Sunday football with friends.
For an appetizer we had an order of Buffalo Wings. I kept going down memory Lane going by ordering the Corned Beef Sandwich with Swiss Cheese on Rye, it was just as I remembered. My brother had the cheeseburger. We also split a side of fries.
They also have a somewhat limited Brunch menu. So if you are on the Island, give Jody's a try.
Why only 3 stars? I just wasn't blown away with the food.Maybe you will be.
