  1. Bridie's was ok.  We arrived in a group of 7 and they were able to accommodate us after about 5 minutes.  From reading other reviews, I found out that they have a new menu.  20 different wings and 20 different burgers.  Something for everyone.  There was a whole other side of the menu we didn't even check out.  Practically everyone at the table had a burger except for one or two.  The burgers took awhile to come out.  Approximately 25 minutes waiting but the waitstaff was attentive and made sure to bring us plenty of soda and water.

I ordered the Metro Burger which comes with guac, sauteed onions, and chipotle mayo.  I had a side of sweet potato fries (at no extra cost).  The burger was seasoned nicely and juicy.  The fries were sweet and crisp.  The mayo had a hint of spice which was nice.  All in all we had a good experience.  One friend's burger didn't come out with the rest and was sent to another table by accident.  She had to wait and eventually decided to just take it to go.  The burger was reduced by half but we felt it should have been free after the extremely long wait.

Will be back to try Bridie's out again.

  2. Neighborhood Irish Pub

I had the need for lunch and this place was just sitting there on a corner calling us – so in we went.

The place is a medium sized neighborhood restaurant / pub and has been here for eons only under a different name.  I knew the old place was good so wanted to give this a whirl.

The food is very good.  I was looking for a varied menu as I had visitors from another country along and didn't want the same ole menu and this place fit the bill perfectly.

The waitress was great and as I said, the food was very good- portions were perfect and although prices were a little high, you get what you pay for.

The setting is basically 3 rooms- the barroom when you walk in, and two good sized dining rooms on the left.

Bathrooms were clean – double bonus!

    Parking on the street.

  3. I rarely eat meat, but when I do, I make sure I come to birdies to try their wings. They serve the best wings I have EVER tasted. Seriously. You will read about restaurants with great wings…but you haven't had excellent ones until you have come here.

Entrees are consistent, and not bland like most pubs that serve American cuisine. A wonderful place to bring a date, friends, or even your family.

Tap beers are always fresh. Drink selections are not limited.

Staff is hospitable, and very clean.

    Recommendation:
Bag hooks underneath the bar for women would be an amazing addition to this superb establishment. Sometimes when the bar is crowded, you don't want to hang your purse on your chair.

  4. Very spacious. Great beers on tap. Great big burgers, tasty fries. Friendly staff. Nice place to watch a game with 5 big HD televisions. Clean bathrooms. Nice size menu with lots of variety.

  5. We came here on a Wednesday, Christmas Eve, to take advantage of the Buy 1 Get One Free Burger special. When we got there, it was for the most part empty, probably because most people were on their way to spend the holidays with their families. You walk into the bar with several LED TV's from all manufacturers (LG, Sharp, Panasonic, etc.) plastered across all 4 walls featuring all the sports games. The bar runs length-wise with ample seats along it's L-shaped design, as well as several high tables to lounge at. The adjacent room is the dining room, with one or two dozen tables laid across the floor. Space is one thing this place has and I would definitely meet up with some friends here to avoid the crowds on Austin St. in Forest Hills.

Beers are cheap, drafts priced at $5.00 to $6.00, varying from Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, Sam Adams Winter Lager, Stella Artois, Bud Light, Stella Cider, Coors, Mangers Apple Cider, Yeung Ling, Sam Adams, Bass, Budweiser, Guiness, Shocktop, and Bridie's Ale. Although their online menu touted Drink Specials ($3 Domestic Bottles, $4 Import Bottles, $4 Well Drinks) Monday through Saturday from 11 AM – 7 PM, we were told there were none that day, probably because it was Christmas Eve. For $5-$6 a draft, I wasn't going to complain.

For their Tuesday Buy 1 Get One Free Burger special, you pay the menu price for the first burger and then you get a free Classic Beef Burger (valued at $9.50). Any add-on's to the free burger cost extra, such as +$0.75 for a slice of cheese. I opted for the Juniper Park Burger ($11.00) which includes BBQ sauce, cheddar cheese, bacon and sauteed onions. All burgers (including the free burger) do include a half-sour pickle slice, red onions, lettuce, a tomato slice, ketchup, and a side of french fries. And let me tell you, these burgers are amazing!! For the area, I'd have to say Dirty Pierre's still holds the crown to my favorite burger, but Bridie's ranks probably second best! In about 10 minutes, our burgers were served. The meat patty is thick at slightly over 0.5" (half an inch) and juicy. It has a lot of flavor and holds its merits in and of itself: it's quality meat and cooked perfectly to my liking of medium. Thrown on top were sauteed onions, a generous heap of bacon along with a slice of melted cheddar cheese conjoining everything together. I could have easily placed a couple slices of the bacon on the free burger, but I decided to enjoy every piece of it.. The french fries were seasoned on point. Crisp on the outside, not too starchy inside. They reminded me of Five Guys fresh-cut fries as opposed to your typical frozen fries you find at many bars. Yum!

I couldn't have asked for anything different. The food was spot on, TV's were ample so I could catch a game in every which direction I looked. I can imagine this being an especially good thing when this place gets crowded. Our bartender and waitress, Olivia, was very friendly, checking up on us frequently always with a genuine smile on her face. The only thing I found weird or awkward was that the music would sometimes go silent or too loud, my guess is because the bartender or whoever is changing tracks or adjusting the volume. I'd probably go for a preset playlist with volume equalizer for the night as I could imagine that would be a real hassle if Bridie's had a real busy night. Nonetheless, I will definitely make my way back here, with friends in tow, for their other weekly specials including $0.25 wings on Mondays and $2 tacos on Wednesdays! Thank you Bridies. I've lived in the area for several years and have only discovered you now! Better late than never!
