One and One
“I don't why on Yelp it says this spot is not good for dancing when everyone downstairs is getting it in.”
“Downstairs is the Nexus lounge which plays awesome music and has its own bar (equally good drinks).”
“The music was amazing especially if you like Hip Hop, R&B, Reggae, the classic throwbacks that you GOTTA play at every party.”

Not to be "that girl" but I have no other choice than to turn to Yelp to lodge a complaint. We came here for my friends birthday. It's your average LES bar. Crowded, top 40 music, no room to dance but fun anyways. Great. So we're upstairs having a good time when a few of us needed to go to the bathroom. The bathrooms are super weird in this place- you basically have no choice but to form a line going up the stairs, while an attendant directs you to a free stall. I went first and got out before my friends. They asked me to wait for them so we could all fight through the crowds together on our way back to the birthday girl. Like I mentioned, there really is no other place to wait but the stairs. While waiting, a girl who worked at the bar told me to get off of the stairs. Okay, rude, but I turned to head back down. At that point it was too late, people we're walking up in front of me. So I thought I would just turn around and wait upstairs. Well, clearly the employee was not happy about this. She was carrying a pretty large trash can and hurled it at me. I was not drunk, belligerent, rude, or obnoxious. I was simply trying to get out of the way and got a trash can thrown at my 5' 2" body. With no apology. Basically everyone just stared. Needless to say I will not be returning.
And now for the advice portion since this is Yelp: There are thousands upon thousands of bars in the city. Go elsewhere.
Came here on a late Sunday afternoon- sat outside and refused to be acknowledged for quite some time.
The mango iced teas we finally were able to order and receive were good… but our waitress disappeared for who knows how long again, and when she did reappear, was rather curt. The bathrooms were also gross. Hard pass on coming here again.
I must admit I was somewhat hesitant about having lunch here after reading many reviews that deemed this to be a racist establishment; however I must say I enjoyed my meal here. We stopped in a Saturday afternoon. There were three people in my party and two of us ordered the lamb burger. My burger was absolutely delicious; however my friend did find a small piece of what looked like to be an egg shell in his. But as many men do, he picked it out and kept eating. The fries that came along with the burger were also tasty and well seasoned. Our server was friendly and attentive. So overall, I would say I was satisfied with the service received at One on One. I would not go out of my way to return but would considered it if I were in the area.
Reasonable place that I happened to find by chance (only reviewing as a bar/for dancing). I was with a group of fans and we stopped by quickly as it started raining. Really turned about to be a good decision. Drinks were fairly reasonable for the area, and it was really a good time with a nice vibe and music selection. It was crowded, but not overly so.
Went to One and One and it was so crowded but it was a lot of fun! A lot of young people – super chill bar scene in the first floor then if you go all the way to the back and walk down there's a dance club in the bottom level. I think there was a DJ I'm not sure – all I remember is that there was good music playing and people were dancing. It was super crowded down there too. If you don't get annoyed when a place is really crowded then definitely check this place out.
Love One and One!!! My friend and I had early Saturday mornings, so we came here for dinner on Friday and to watch the Islanders' game. There were other Isles' fans there, so I loved it…. The music was great, so we had to leave right after dinner, or else we would've stayed all night.
One and One is a fun little bar located where the Lower East Side meets the East Village. What makes One and One stand out is the stand up comedy night they host in the basement every Friday night. Lots of great talent. And unlike most cramped basement bars, One and One's basement is cool and airy with vaulted ceilings and church pew seating.
This is an OK spot to drink and dance.
Lines can get very long on the weekends, so you might want to show up early if you're opposed to waiting outside to get into bars. The dance floor downstairs gets PACKED! It's hard to even get a drink when it's crowded and the bar is teeny tiny.
I would've really liked this place, since I love to dance, but the staff here was straight up rude. When they were ready to close down, they were practically forcing people out of the bar. One of my friends thought he misplaced his wallet and when he tried walking down the stairs onto the main floor, the bouncers asked him if he understood English/knew what it meant to leave. I get that it can be difficult trying to clear out a bar full of drunken people, but I felt that behavior was disrespectful and completely out of line. There are plenty of other bars in the area to take your business.
