Momma's Boy is a new restaurant located just a few steps away from the campus of William Paterson University. Being that I work there, I had to give the place a try and it did not disappoint. Think of this as Shake Shack with a much wider variety of food and nowhere near as expensive. I'd come here any day over Shake Shack.
Firstly, service is top-notch. The folks there are very attentive and the place is spotless. Plenty of seating.
Food was delicious. I have gotten a bacon cheeseburger and fries both times I have been there and it was very satisfying. The word from colleagues who have had other items on the menu is all positive.
Once they are able to get on the Pioneer Express system (WP student debit system) they will take another grand step toward success!
Momma's Boy is basically a nice local take on American grill style institutions like old drive ins or Shake Shack. The menu is heavily burger, chicken, and ice cream focused, and looks largely what a drive in in the 50s probably looked like. Luckily for them and you if you visit, the food is pretty good. The atmosphere is enhanced by a semicircular design of the building with huge Windows that allow for lots of light. The outside has some picnic tables too so it is very child friendly and nice on a warm day. The burgers are pretty good, not Shake Shack good, but better than fast food and most chain places. The chicken sandwich with jalapeños and slaw was very tasty as well. The ice cream looked amazing and is sourced from a small creamery in New England and they do milk shakes and floats from it as well.
