This is one of my favorite places to have a drink and some eats after work. It's close to my job and they serve cocktails after 5pm. Each time I've come, I've had a well-made Manhattan or two. The food is also quite tasty. That cheese and pepper pretzel is just right! Chewy, flavorful and served with a slightly spicy mustard. Their sandwiches are tasty as well. I imagine this spot is also great for lunch, though I generally come later in the day.
Cozy and intimate cafe in the Lincoln Center theater district to have a healthy meal and delicious wine or whatever drink of your choice.
At first we were judgmental and thought this place would be on the expensive side considering the location and upscale looks.
After seeing their menu, we were incredibly satisfied with the variety of selection of snacks, appetizers, main course, dessert, and drinks for an affordable price.
We had their buttermilk chicken sandwich with all the right greens such as spinach and avocado along with a glass of red wine to top it off.
I'd recommend to stop by and explore especially if in the area.
Outstanding services!
Looking forward to visit in the future.
We came here to get some food after a walk that ended up being 3 hours.
It was solid, a good easy, low key place to grab food.
It reminded me of Gray Dog meets Panera meets another city because it felt like a place that could be in Boulder or Denver.
Liked the food, it was quick and easy.
The best deal on a good quality iced coffee on the UWS. This little nook is hidden and not easy to find but definitely worth the hunt. Donuts, pastries, and fresh sandwiches for lunch.
I've been to Indie Food and Wine twice now. I go there before seeing shows at the Met. The food is mostly sandwiches and salads, with a few hot options thrown in. The servings are medium sized, but I've left feeling sated both times. The first time I went, I ordered a combination plate with samples of multiple sides. That was pretty good. The last time, I got an arugula salad with mint, peas, and the lemon vinaigrette, with chicken on top. The salad itself was nice, but the chicken had no seasoning and might've been better if it had been dressed in some way. It also did not come with any bread, and when I asked for some, I got three little bite-size slices.
I give four stars because, even though the food is not the most amazing I've ever had, this place has great prices for the area. Everything around the Met is extremely overpriced, and you can eat at Indie Food and Wine for under $15. They do have a nice selection of wines as well.
Summary: Staple sandwiches and salads available at cheap prices for the area in a very convenient location if you're seeing a show.
Indie Wine was the star of my night at the ballet. It basically upstaged Misty Copeland (okay, not true but it was very good!). My friend and I were scoping out places to have a drink before our 7:30 ballet tickets and this (once we found it) was the perfect spot. Though we had to wait about ten minutes, once we sat down the service was very quick. We ordered French "65s" which were great and my friend had some type of ricotta/honey toast combo. After our ballet ended around 10 we were starving and Indie had been so good before that we headed back for more! I had a caesar salad with chicken and avocado. The chicken was poached which seemed a little odd, but it was tasty regardless. This should be your go-to if like us you're attending a performance and need somewhere to have a drink/bite before or after.
Yuck Yuck and Yuck.
We have been here before and it's been lovely. Tonight? Not so much. The chef much have no dignity, self-respect or sight to put out plays like the ones on the pictures.
I ordered the root vegetables. I think they were supposed to be roasted. These were much and tasteless. Couldn't discern what riot vegetables they were. In fact it could've been overcooked pasta, or clay.
The other dish is an appetizer sampler. Meats and cheeses, olives, sauteed kale blah blah blah. It was not actually that. It was gross. And there was literally one thin alive of prosciutto, and two little chunks of cheese.
The other stuff? Undetermined.
Wow.
Seasonal, tasty and simple food. Plates come in small portions, but price isn't steep ($12 per plate). I got the combo with half roasted squash salad and a root vegetable side. The squash salad is so tasty. More than a salad, it is really a well-composed appetizer with whipped goat cheese and roasted butternut topped with watercress. The root vegetable mix was only ok. Hazelnuts added good crunch but some pieces of the root vegetable were way undercooked.
Service can be spotty. My dinner was fine, but the girl accidentally gave the two ladies next to me some olives that someone else ordered. It's really the server's mistake, but she said she would have to charge them for it. I thought that was quite unreasonable.
