  1. The meat is really flavorful for sure but the bun is a bit on the soggy side. Their shakes are also really good (we got their shake of the week which is blueberry lemon curd).

It's a bit messy due to the sogginess of the bun but I would definitely give it another try maybe at a different location.

  2. I for one love shake shack! I never been to the one in grand central before today. The signs were confusing of where the line started. The line was long at first but it took 10 minutes or less to make my order. I ordered the cheeseburger, fries, and a vanilla milkshake. It's a bit pricey but their burgers are free of antibiotics and hormones. The potato buns are from non-GMO potatoes. It's not as greasy and fattening as other burgers. After I put in my order it took about 5 minutes to pick up my order which is a plus because it was crowded but they were working fast.

There is a space to sit down and eat but it's always packed! They also deliver!

They are also collecting donations for "No Kid Hungry" right now which is great and it's a 2 dollar donation and you get a free milkshake on your next purchase!

I would recommend anyone to try shake shack it's great!

  3. Update 03/30/16
I got to the terminal early and decided to get breakfast here. There was one person waiting for his food and no one online (rare occasions) which was why I said why not? It's going to be quick. The cashier took my order and handed me the buzzer. About a minute later, a man gets online and orders a drink and a meal. Soon after he gets his food, but I'm still waiting for mine and there is no acknowledgement by the cashier at all. By this time I have waited for 5 minutes and no one else aside me is waiting and the cashier is just standing at his station. And as I peer into the kitchen no one is doing anything. So at the ten minute mark, I ask the cashier what's going on and he bristles a response. I have been waiting for ten minutes with no acknowledgement and no update on my food. So the cashier tells the staff to expedite the order. I receive a half apology about them not seeing the ticket… He hands me the food with no eye contact.. I ordered an egg, cheese and sausage sandwich, which I was sorely disappointed with. The sausage was overly salty. It tasted like it had been sitting out for a long time and just reheated. The cheese was not melted. The egg had no taste. Just a terrible experience and poor customer service.

I came down to pick up lunch for my coworker and myself and i knew it was a big mistake the minute I saw the line. The line wrapped around the terminal and moved slowly. It took about 20 minutes for me to place my order and another 20 to pick up my food. The woman who gave me my order had it all WRONG. The items in my bag contained cheese crinkle fries and a cheeseburger, which isn't what I ordered. I told her it was wrong but she insisted that it was right. My order was a shake burger and one with bacon. She said the regular shake burger was missing and it took a minute for my burger to come out, however I was missing a shake burger with bacon. I returned the cheeseburger to her and two seconds later she returned it to me. Then she suddenly realized that that wasn't what I had ordered. Taste is good. Customer service I below par.

  4. Tried shake shack breakfast for the first time. It tasted good but SALTY. We had both sausage/egg and just egg and they were both SALTY.
Also staff seemed overwhelmed for some reason. Assumed kitchen weren't ready because orders came out skipping several numbers.

  5. Eh, I guess I don't get the appeal of Shake Shack. Granted, the line was long and I was starving, but the portabella burger was incredibly bland and had a very odd texture to it. The lemonade was passable, and the fries were super soggy.

However, despite the sizable line, the staff took our order and got it out quickly.

  6. My verdict: Shake Shack over In-n-Out. This is coming from a SoCal native! The fries at Shake Shack are hands down better than In-n-Out's. Crinkle cut fries are just better. Period.

I can't speak to the other locations, but I really loved that this one is located inside Grand Central Terminal, even though it was busy, because you can cross off two things in one visit!

  7. Coming from Canada, we have good burger places but we definitely don't have places like Shake Shack or the west coast competitor, In N'Out. I was dying to try out this place and was so excited to see the store in the Grand Central Terminal.

The location in the Grand Central Terminal station is small and extremely open. I came pretty late at around 9 PM, but it was still packed! I thought people would be sit to eat, but turns out that not that many did that so there was no struggle to find seating. Ordering our food was quick but we did have to wait approximately 15 minutes.

I ordered the Shroom Burger and the Cheese Fries. Holy, this Shroom Burger was so delicious. The mushroom and cheese are placed together and deep fried but this was perfect. I liked how there was more cheese than mushroom, and as soon as I took my first bite the cheese basically exploded. SO GOOD!!

The cheese fries? Oh it is a must! I highly recommend everyone to order it. The fries had a slight crispiness but was very soft and moist inside. The best part was the cheese sauce, which came in a separate container and you have to pour it on yourself. It wasn't cheese sauce like the cheese wiz you get in a jar, but it was REAL cheese sauce. Make sure you eat the cheese fries pretty quickly since the cheese dries up.

  8. Who doesn't love Shake Shack and this is one of the better locations simply because the lines aren't as long here, they move fast and with smaller wait times who's complaining not to mention the staff appears to exemplify professional courtesy here at all times with a smile.

So as you already know shake shack has some of the most fantastically juicy and tasty burgers of which I actually have two number 1 favorites here, I like everything as a double so no single burgers for me or the family and see below.

Shack Stack – Cheeseburger and a 'Shroom Burger topped with lettuce, tomato, ShackSauce this is such a juicy, cheesy and thick burger full on flavor grease and fat and I love it!

SmokeShack – Cheeseburger topped with all-natural applewood smoked bacon, chopped cherry pepper, ShackSauce – It's the chopped Cherry Peppers that makes this burger that much more better for me due to the hot and spicy levels.

The rest of the family likes the Smoke shack minus the peppers.

We gave the chicken shack a try and thought we would just stick to the burgers.

We don't do fries or drinks here simply because we take our burgers to go and fries don't hold up well during the travels so I can only speak to the burgers which we've been eating since Shake Shake opened its door here in the Metropolitan area many years ago.

There is plenty of seating located throughout the Grand Central Food courts so finding a seat to eat your burger n fries shouldn't be an issue here.

    Good stuff!
