  1. Great spot for a large group Birthday Brunch. Despite it being December there was great out door seating. Another women was celebrating her 80th Birthday I'm guessing and she had a large group as well. None the less the noise level was low  and I could still hear the light music. Lets talk about the food. The menu had a variety of options which I was well pleased. However, I'm a breakfast type of gyal so I settled for the California Omelette with a side of Canadian bacon. Great food and great service! Our waitress was awesome. She always had a smile on her face and prompt. I was happy that they recognized my birthday and provided me with a complimentary Birthday treat! This is a great place to celebrate with friends and family! Bonus free valet parking so tip well!

  2. I honestly work 4 blocks away on the other side of the highway for 4 years, and this is the first time I noticed this restaurant! Is it me, or is it a bit hidden??

This place has a lot of comfortable outdoor seats, but we chose to sit inside because it was a bit windy. Came here for brunch this morning, was not disappointed. The inside had many tables, and could accommodate a huge party. It was such a peaceful brunch. The waitstaff were courteous and always made sure our coffee cup was filled. My friend had the eggs benedict while my BFF & I had the crabmeat burger, one with fries, one with salad. The burger was very good and had quite a bit of sodium in there… we were dying of thirst later on. The fries and salad were good. My friends benedict was good, no complaints there as well!

There is no way we can complain about our lovely meal. I can't wait to go back with my husband. I'm wondering if I can bring my puppy there… since there is outdoor seating… hopefully I can, so my puppy can enjoy the smell of our food. Definitely come here to try! Highly recommend!!

  3. My favorite place in Bayside ! The staff is always reeeeally nice and accommodating. It's always clean and the food is super yummy! I have dreams with their mango avocado salad! Every item is really good! Love it! And if you sit outside in a warm sunny day, you almost feel like you're on vacation lol

  4. Such a nice looking place…but sooo many things wrong with it. Particularly the wait staff. A few sips into my glass of water, I noticed lipstick mark on it. So I told the waitress when she brought the food. She apologized, took the glass away and didn't
bring another one. I had to ask for it when she came back to the table. Then she and a coworker were cleaning up another table and spilled the milk for coffee. He cleaned the table, then the floor, and cleaned the table again with the same rag and repeated. All infront of customers that were waiting to sit at that table. While this is probably normal behind the scenes, do u really expect customers to sit at a table wiped with a rag u cleaned the floor with? They told the host about it and got their table cleaned with another rag. Waitress was also not friendly or personable. I don't need someone to kiss my ass, be fake and bubbly. But if u're working for tips, and ur misery shows, that's pretty bad. Especially if it's not like we were needy and annoying.

As for the food…totally meh for the price. Pricey and mediocre. Hash for potatoes is lame at a place like this. It wasn't even good hash. Omelette was ok nothing special. The food doesn't match what the restaurant wants to be. For the price and ambience, I expected much better. Totally waste of money. Wish we went to brunch where we initially wanted to.

  5. I always think of Veranda as the "crowd-pleaser" restaurant. It is a large space, with a menu having many different types of food and the service has always been good whenever I've been.

A big bonus to this place is its large outdoor seating area that has an awning and plenty of umbrellas to protect diners from the elements. It's a great spot to be on a nice day. It always reminds of LA with it slightly upscale vibe and large open air seating space. They have done a great job setting this up – you do not even realize you are sitting near busy Northern Blvd.

I've never been disappointed with anything that I have ordered, but I also did not have anything that made me say WOW I have to eat this all the time. Most items are executed well.

The service I always found very attentive even when I have dined as a part of a large group. They usually have enough staff to provide a group with a dedicated waiter to attend to all needs.

Valet parking is available, which is good because street parking can be difficult at times around here.

Give them a shot especially if you have a large group. Veranda can usually handle it all in style!

  6. Great outdoor seating for brunch, good ambiance. However, I was a bit disappointed with what I ordered. I got the Mediterranean omelette and when it came, it was undercooked. Also, the waiter serving my friend and I took forever to hand us the check. I mean, learn to multitask. The presentation of the restaurant itself might be enough to make me come back in the future. But I definitely will be ordering something different.

  7. This is an okay place to go if you live in the neighborhood and don't want to go out of the way to go to better brunch places. The service was great and the place is very spacious and comfy. As for the food, it was just OKAY. I started off with an orange juice ($3) and I wished it was freshly squeezed, but it was just straight from Tropicana bottles. I also ordered the Mediterranean Omelette which was really mediocre…nothing special at all. There was also really little spinach in it….and a lot of tomatoes, so I didn't really like it as much because I like to have more spinach in it. The potatoes were not bad I guess, but not great either. Overall nothing special.

  8. It's 10am on a beautiful Sunday and my assistant and I are stuck indoors, working. After 10 minutes of stomachs growling and staring out of the window, we came to a collective decision that we would say "F work, we going to brunch"…. at least get out the office for like an hour.

I yelped around and found Veranda. The brunch menu appealed to the both of us and it was only 15 minutes away. Once we got there, I was happy with the decision we made. This place is beautiful! The outside seating area gives off a relaxing vibe with lots of greenery, comfortable wicker chairs, marble tabletops and a small waterfall. The indoor dining room is large and decorated beautifully as well.

We walked into the patio area confused as to what we should do; there were no signs indicating whether or not we should seat ourselves. After standing around for 30 awkward seconds, I decided to just find a table for us. As we approached the table, my assistant noticed a man flagging us down. He informed us we could sit at the table we had picked and handed us menus and a basket of warm pita bread with hummus and feta cheese dips, Yum! We were both starving, so you know that bread was done in like 3 minutes.

They had a special Fathers Day menu so I ordered the vanilla challah french toast with fresh mixed berries and my assistant got a spinach and cheddar cheese omelet. It took about 15 minutes for our food to come and boy did we get alot of food! I was surprised and happy at the portions size (my greedy ass lol). My first two slices of french toast were crisp on the outside and slightly moist on the inside, perfection! The accommodating blackberries, blueberries and strawberries were a great addition. Once I cut into the last piece of french toast I noticed it was very mushy. Not from the syrup but like under done a bit, so I didn't eat that one.

My assistant enjoyed her omelet and accompanying hash browns but noticed towards the end of her meal that her omelet wasn't cooked all the way through. We informed the waitress, just to bring it to her attention and she apologized. Service was actually a bit nonchalant the entire time but I have no complaints bc all of our needs were met. I would return
