Excellent Service! I experienced eating fantastic freshly made prepared food in a cute environment! The staff are warm, friendly and attentive! The ambience is colorful and inviting and this specific location gave me corn bread muffins as appetizers before you even order your meal! All of the food was absolutely delicious! The background music has me snapping my fingers as I sang the great selection of songs. Great place to eat, have drinks and hang out!
This is my second visit to this location. I was here for a farewell party for a special person. My friend made a reservation for a party of 20 a few days in advance.
Upon entering the restaurant, I inquired about the reservation and was looked at like I had two heads lol. After searching through their paperwork for almost five minutes, they finally located the reservation. My personal opinion is if you have dinner reservations for a particular day then they should already be at the front desk to make it easier…….I'm just saying.
The restaurant isn't that big in size, on the first level there is a bar and about 10-12 tables available for seating. Our party was led upstairs to the second level which I never noticed before. There is a bar upstairs as well and a bathroom which is a plus because no one wants to have to go up and down for the restroom.
I loved how they set the tables up, it was just one long table for us all to dine together. Our server Tori was absolutely great and attentive to our needs.
The food was very good. I chose to order stew chicken with rice and peas. I was enjoying it until my throat felt like it was on fire. It felt as if I just swallowed a hot pepper which surprised me because stew chicken normally isn't so spicy. I expressed my concern about not wanting to eat anymore so my meal was replaced with another choice which I chose the oxtails instead.
Oh my goodness………their oxtail dinner was amazing……seasoned to perfection. Everyone was pleased with their meal, just a few concerns about the peppers. Overall our dining experience made our farewell party a wonderful one.
We had a large party and one thing that I didn't like about Footprints is when it came to the bill, we were only allowed to split it two ways which I thought was absolutely absurd. I've been to other restaurants with less people and the bill has been split several ways. Footprints has to change this part because it was such an inconvenience because some were paying with cash and others with their credit/debit card.
Was going to order food but took entirely too long, so ordered 3 cocktails instead.
Vodka and 7up, and 2 frozen mixed drinks.
The frozen mixed drinks were fine. Refreshing on a hot day. The vodka was missing the 7up, and took about 25 minutes to come up. 2 stars for trying at least but such a failed attempt.
The restaurant had a continued flow of customers. The food was tasty I hadn't been here in a while so I had to get the "rasta pasta". We got authentic Caribbean hospitality from our waitress; at first she was chilly but she warmed up and assisted is as we're indecisive in our choices from the menu. I enjoyed myself thoroughly it's a good additive to the Coney Island strip.
Loved the rum punch, rasta pasta was AMAZING… But I cannot lie, my friend and I were the only 2 Caucasian girls in there. Definitely a hang out late night not for us. We weren't treated nicely in there although the food was great. I would not return because we were incredibly nice yet it felt like we were run out of there.
I got the rasta Pasta and it was amazing. The sauce was full of flavor, and although the pasta didn't swim in the sauce, they didn't skimp either. The jerk chicken sauce that got mixed in was a nice addition of flavor. Just enough heat that I'm glad I didn't say extra spicey, which is surprisingly rare for this white girl Although I didn't care for the skin, the chicken was overall good and tender.
Service was a different story. Waitress didn't even refill my water. I thought she was either naturally standoffish or maybe she's just the type of person who doesn't belong in a people oriented job but gotta pay the rent somehow.
The drawback for me though was there was bugs (fruit flies?) flying around my table. I get it. more bugs than people in this city, but that doesn't mean I should be seeing them as I'm eating.
The rasta pasta is sooo GOOD! Its def a must try coming here. The drinks were on point too! I got "sex on the beach" so smooth, fruity but def catches up to you. Inside is cozy and the waiters are really nice and accommodating. We were seated so fast. The DJ was playing such great music too.
10/10 food
10/10 drinks
10/10 customer service
As far as parking goes, i parked on the street because after we had dinner we went to coney island and went on a few rides & boardwalk. I advise everyone to look for street parking because the lots are packed & over priced.
This place is definitely better than the Clarendon Rd location. My boyfriend and I traveled here on a Saturday night for dinner and our expectations were low. When we walked in, there was a 20 minute wait (not bad). However, it was raining pretty hard that evening, off and on, and there was a concert going on at the ball friend across the street. Maybe that explains the short wait time. Anyway, it was a bit empty inside but we chose to sit at the bar. CJ the bartender provided wonderful and generous service. I am not a drinker but since this was a celebratory dinner, I wanted a nice fruity drink. He made a great variation of one of their drinks that was so TASTY! For appetizers, we had the codfish fritters that were ok. Tasted like more flour than fish but still ok. For dinner, I had the rasta pasta with curry goat and my boyfriend had the oxtail with rice and peas. Both meals were brought to us in a timely manner and piping hot. Overall, I am happy that the service and food was better than the other location (see my review for that one) and I will most definitely return soon in hopes that the food and service are just as great.
