Good service and a variety of beers on tap. There's a full kitchen and pinball in the back. The bar tender was welcoming and on top of our refill needs all night. Mugs is a oasis of normality in a neighborhood overrun by hipsters. I love Williamsburg, and I even like hipster over-run Williamsburg, but after patronizing several bars in the area, Mugs is a great place to end the night with some craft beers and normal folk.
I have never gotten food from here but their craft beer selection is top-notch and the bartenders are always very nice! It can get super crowded and I usually feel bad sitting at a table and not ordering food so I usually just go in when there's a spot at the bar.
Nice place for a late night drink and wings. We stopped by after dinner and was pleasantly surprised by their beer selection and food options. The place was nowhere near as packed as we had anticipated and way cleaner than we thought it would've been. Definitely worth a visit for drinks and light meals. We enjoyed our time here, maybe we were already drunk, but we had a good time and enjoyed the food.
I liked this bar a lot. They had a large tap list that had a diverse set of interesting beers from around the country and almost no mediocre beers on it. The prices for beer were not bad $7-9 and it was reasonably spacious. The service was good and where we sat in the back was reasonably quiet.
We did not have any food so I can't speak to the quality of that.
Williamsburg has a lot of dives and cocktail bars that I like but I'm happy to have found a place devoted to good beer that's so conveniently located
it's a no-frills, laid-back dive-ish bar. Whiskey Brooklyn had a line out the door at 2 AM, so we ended up here. good service, clean bathrooms, and there's pinball machines. fairly quiet at that hour but still a few patrons.
one guy in our group was ticked off they don't make "bomb" shots (as in, Jagerbombs), but I was perfectly fine with slamming down Jameson shots. solid beer selection on hand too.
I'm not usually in this part of Brooklyn very often, but it seems like a solid, unpretentious, normal bar where you can just hang out, relax, and lose track of time.
Great beers and decent service, but the food was kind of meh. In particular, my lab-burger was totally uninspired. No juice. The quesadilla was decent–nice and gooey. The SO did not finish her veggie burger.
On the bright side, the had a few amazing brews, including Stone's "Enjoy By" release, one of the absolute best Imperial IPAs I've ever had.
Definitely a mixed crowd of youngsters and grizzled locals. If you like good beers, definitely visit.
They have a pretty enormous beer menu here. I was definitely impressed. $6 for most of their craft beers on tap on not happy hour prices on a Saturday afternoon . So not too bad. They also have a great outdoor back patio with picnic tables. I'd say if I had a reason to go to Williamsburg frequently, this would be a great neighborhood pub to come home to for a happy hour. But alas, I don't have reasons to come to Williamsburg other than Yelp events. It's kind of out of the way of any subway and was a little dank inside cueing us to go outside.
Somewhere between a dive and not a dive. Great craft beers (some upwards of $25 a bottle), and a good amount of whiskey options. I guess it's a sports bar, but nobody there was really paying attention to the TVs. Bartender was a nice guy, but if you're not with a group of people, I can't imagine this really being a good scene in which to chill.
