for at least 5 years now, iv come and parked at this ruby tuesday, but iv never actually eaten there until now. its just the fastest way to get out of the car when you're going shopping at the jersey gardens.
but when you shop so much your debit card starts to get declined (and yet, i could pull cash out of the ATM with it, w/e), you get hungry.
so i wander into the bar, feeling like i just cut a hole in my pocket and made it rain all over cole haan and saks fifth avenue (worth it). the salad bar caught my eye, so after studying the menu to no avail, i wandered over there and made the most egregious "salad" ….. how can i even call it a salad, which is supposed to be like this healthy thing that keeps you regular. i should call it a wad of just every single topping combination i could muster onto a plate – oh my god it was delicious. oddly no croutons…whatever, eggs, pasta, bacon bits, pile em on and keep it moving.
i piled it on so hard im pretty sure some of it fell onto my new leather shoes, im still over here trying to scrub out that stain. maybe if it gets the point where its not that noticeable, i can exchange it. idk, its just annoying that five minutes into a pair of new shoes, and i fuck it up because my salad bar greed + my general messiness caused some collateral damage.
it was a really great salad though. for 9 dollars, im sure i ate at least 3 or 5 lbs of salad…versus the 1 lb you would get practically anywhere else. i wish salad was priced by the plate, not by the pound.
greedy fuckers (not ruby tuesday, i mean all of those other places that charge by the pound, you know who you are). how much can you really charge for something you're gonna poop out in 4 hours anyways. sorry, that was nasty. i had to say it.
anyways, i chowed that down, then at 4pm on the dot, i asked them about the happy hour deals and got myself a $2 miller lite. THANK YOU AMERICA. reasonable prices. i left a large tip and drove back to my price gouging home, new york city.
The only reason why I'm giving this restaurant 4 stars is because I actually did not eat here. I placed an order to go, the girl on the phone was very helpful. She kindly told me exactly where to go to pick up my order. It took about 10-15 minutes for my food to be ready, as soon as I got there it was already waiting for me. It had all the utensils I needed (I hate places that don't give you utensils when your ordering out)
Will definitely order from here again
For our last meal in Jersey, this was our only other option…either here, or go back to Applebee's…lol! Plus, it was right next to the hotel and it was pretty cold, so shorter walk. Friendly greeting when we walked in, they sat us at a booth off to the side. The only problem I had was that each time the door opened, that cold air blew through, even though we weren't near the door.
Our server was friendly but his delivery was so scripted…not much personality. We ordered a bottle of wine and it was a twist off. He didn't even poor it. I know this is a chain, but some wine service skills should be given. The chicken flat bread pizza was great! Although, when we asked the girl who delivered it to bring us some small plates, she brought us some that just came out of the dishwasher…they were still wet.
I ordered the Cajun jambalaya pasta with shrimp, chicken, and andouille sausage. This was very good with just the right heat. The partner didn't fare too well with the parmesan chicken pasta. I think the Swiss cheese is what kills it. We also ordered the Blondie because they were out of two others. This was good, came with vanilla ice cream.
Overall, this place is fine for a decent meal. Service is cordial. It is the little things that do make a difference. This would probably be the only time I'll ever eat at an RTs. Come to find out an old friend lives 10 minutes away. He could've saved us!
Pretty much your standard Ruby Tuesdays chain location. Bar seating, salad bar, typical RT menu.
They did recently make some changes to their beer list, removing most of the craft beers that I used to appreciate. Gone is the Dogfish Head and the Sierra Nevada IPA, instead replace by more mass produced beer like PBR and Molson. How disappointing.
Three stars since they're a chain restaurant that seems to be following the instructions from their corporation and have little control over the products they serve.
For some reason I only come here when I'm starving and don't want to walk far. The salad bar is always clean and even though it isn't the greatest in the world, it's always well stocked. The fish tacos were pretty good and service was good. Except for the group of women who were either arguing about who has the cutest kids or the latest World Cup game, the atmosphere was pleasant
First time in Ruby Tuesday and what a disappointment. The portion was so small for the price they are charging. I ordered a chicken entree, with one side, and a choice of the salad bar. Seriously when the food came out, I felt like I ordered from the kid's menu or something. For $13.50, I had a small chicken breast with (perhaps) store bought bbq sauce pour on top with melted cheese. There was nothing tasty about the chicken. I chose onion rings as my side, and I swear there were like 8 small onion rings on my plate. Thank goodness for the salad bar. The entree wouldn't have full me up. I also ordered a shrimp appetizer dish. I was tastier than the chicken entree but not amazing or anything. The place was clean and the waitress was friendly, which why I give the place two stars. But definitely would not be coming here for a meal.
Horrible experience with the airport location nearby which isn't even listed on Yelp. Likely they don't want people to know how bad it is.
Food all came out wrong. Burger was raw. Buns were stale and tasted terrible.
The service was abysmal. We don't eat pork and they failed to keep it off our order despite our repeated requests. Waitress wrote down nothing from our order and said she did this all the time. Nothing was correct. We are only a party of two yet she still managed to forget everything we asked for. Write things down!
Will never go to any Ruby Tuesday location again since they obviously have really bad quality control.
We stopped here for a quick lunch after picking up my car from The Residence Inn parking lot next door. I had a smoked prime burger with bacon and cheese and the salad bar salad. Our server was a young man named Charlie. He was very good at his job, recommending some drinks telling us what his favorite was. He also asked me how I wanted my burger to be cooked which pleased me. So I said "medium". The burger came and it was not as juicy as I remember the prime was, and it was well done. I finally got the busy server's attention and told him it was well done. He took the burger back to the kitchen and came back and said they would make another one at medium. After a while I got another one. This time it was juicier. But the meat is not pink inside at all again. Our server came and peeked my meat and said that it was well done again and that he would tell the manager to take it off the bill. I really liked his actions – 1. he came back to make sure it was medium this time. 2. He reported to his manager and asked him to take it off the bill. The manager came to our table to see us (and the burger?) and apologized and told us he would take it off the bill. I always liked Ruby Tuesday for lunch especially because of the salad bar and I still will.
The burger was not done right but our server Charlie did an excellent follow up.
