  1. God awful service- very very rude. If you go in before 11am, you get free coffee when you order a certain breakfast dish. I thought that's a good idea and came in + ordered before 11. Unbelievably, they accused me of having ordered after 11 – EXCUSE ME???? Utter BS. I was so appalled. We absoeffinlutely ordered coffee before 11am. It's not about paying the extra couple bucks- it's the principle. Don't make promises you can't keep and accuse others of not following rules you make up!
This isn't the first time they've been so rude either- I used to go to Red Oak and thought it was okay. Chillers is just terrible- the food is okay diner food but the service is just…. I've never experienced such offensive service at a restaurant or diner before. They also claimed not to have mashed potato, and then I saw another couple sitting a couple tables from me get their order of mashed potato. I called over our waiter who then claimed he thought I didn't want it anymore.

As much as I hate this place, our family chooses this over the extremely tasteless fort lee diners on some weekends- pure convenience.

  2. As a lifelong Fairmount Eats fan (Hackensack location) I decided to check out their newest location – Chillers Grill in Fort Lee. The staff were attentive. The facilities were clean. The atmosphere was well kept (new hardwood flooring). And the food was fresh and tasty. They definitely lived up to the reputation so heartedly gained from the first location.

Try the Skirt Steak Wrap with portobello mushrooms – it was cooked perfectly. The Matzo Ball Soup was served fluffy and flavorful. Yums!!!!

  3. I came here with my Boo Boo for Brunch. We were hoping to dine at the pancake house but they relocated. We always passed by this diner so we gave it a shot.

I ordered one the omelette from breakfast specials special. It came with free OJ. I liked that it came with a potato pancake even though i like home fries more. A slice of melon also came on the plate. also, the pancake was very greasy but its ok.

The service was great. I got my coffee cup refilled twice. 3 cups of coffee is a dangerous day.

I would come here and try other things when I am nearby.

  4. Ahh, Chiller's.

I jumped for joy when I saw Red Oak was getting the boot and a brand new, cool-looking grill was moving in right next to my apt. After reading Chiller's first few reviews, I figured I'd give them time to get their stuff together before my first visit. But the reviews never got better. Reluctantly, I decided to give them a try recently despite the trepidation of a 2 star rating.

I went for breakfast on a Sunday with my boyfriend. We were promptly sat, promptly greeted. We ordered orange juice and a couple of omelets. Depsite lots of reviews claiming horrible service, our server was totally on top of everything and our food came out fast.

I ordered the Fort Lee omelet. Cheddar cheese, veggies, and avocado (first time trying avocado in an omelet, I thought it sounded interesting). And although it looked pretty unappetizing, it was actually decent. My boyfriend ordered the Mexican omelet, I tried a bite, it was also okay. The tortilla chips that came with it were a little stale, and the home fries that came with my meal were ehh. Overall, nothing to write home about, but not the worst sit down meal I've ever had.

The decor is nothing out of the ordinary. The booths, carpet and tables are new. The mural on the wall is off center and agitated my OCD tendencies. But everything seemed to be decently clean.

After reading previous reviews, I was expecting to have the worst experience ever. It was not the worst,  but there's a good amount of room for improvement. Convenience and proximity might cause a return visit on my end. Next time, I'll be there to try some of their appetizers and see how they really stack up. Will update!

  5. I've come to this place time and time again. The service has always been good and we are usually happy about the serving portions.  Personally I think they are better at making Breakfast rather than dinner (But Breakfast is better anyway so..)

The only complaint I would have is how everything is so expensive. My cousin who isn't known to be cheap had mentioned that to me about this place. I never really thought about it but the food is just OK, not enough to pay more than $13 for at times.
There are times I joked with the waiter and asked if everything was organic with these prices?
    Maybe I'm not that funny…

Either way, I'll stop in here or there, maybe during pay day.

  6. I came here with 3 friends today and I had a very good experience. Our waiter was very friendly and personable. I ordered the omelet with all the veggies (I forget what it's called), and it came with potatoes and 2 slices of toast. You can ask for whole wheat. It also came with a jelly and butter on the side.

The coffee was very delicious and another waiter came around multiple times to give us a refill.

This place is great if you want to talk with friends/family/co-workers over a good meal. The atmosphere is very casual and relaxing.

    I would definitely come back.

  7. The epitome of mediocrity … that's what was on my mind when I stopped by.

I pass by here all the time, but never had a chance to actually dine here until recently.  After my first visit, I can see why the reviews in general were fairly lukewarm.

The food was average at best.  Typical diner fare, but not particularly tasty in any way.  The french onion soup was interesting .. and wasn't served in a crock, but rather was served in a wide bowl/dish wish a few slices of cheese on top.  The flavor was alright but way overloaded with onions and didn't look that inviting.

Their bacon cheeseburger was ok.  It was cooked fine but I wasn't a huge fan of their fries.  Again, not horrible but pretty much average in all respects.  At least the portions here are pretty big.

The service was speedy and the atmosphere was ok – kind of old school diner-esque as you'd expect.

All in all I'd probably skip this place in the future.

  8. It's probably 2.5 stars, but I'm going with 2 stars because it's definitely not 3 stars. It's your typical average diner food. The salad was okay, the gyro was average to below average, but the disco fries stood were bad. I would only go back to give their breakfast a try, but probably not.
