  1. Nothing beats a night at Croxley's. With multiple locations on the island and in the area, it makes it easy to travel to one of these spots for the best wings on the island. My usual choice is this Franklin Square establishment (though I frequent RVC and Farmingdale as well). Tonight I went with my buddy and we both were excited to find a quality local beer choice on tap (Barrage's Yada Yada Yada) so we started off with that wonderful brew. We then dined on Irish nachos (French fries with melted mozzarella cheese, bacon, and scallions), spicy popcorn shrimp, and of course some wings (BBQ is the way to go, though other sauces are also good). The "nachos" have a nice layer of creamy, melted cheese and are smothered with the bacon and scallions. The popcorn shrimp are perfectly sized and pack a nice kick along with the sauce that accompanies them. And the wings are big and meaty with a rich BBQ sauce that works so well with the blue cheese given. Overall this is a great food experience (try the zucchini sticks too!) that you'll want to have over and over again.

  2. I do love this place. The reason why I'm goving it 4 stars is because I actually had a bad experience a few years ago. I have been back for the first time in 2016 because of that bad experience. I'm so happy that I had a better experience this time around! So hapy that I came back 2 wks later with MORE friends!

Made me forget about my worst experience there. So let's back track. My worst experience was in 2011.  Got my usual. But for some reason some of the wings were rubbery and some were pink inside. I ate through them thinking it would only be some…but I ended up getting sick and threw it all up when i got home.

I didnt go back until this year…i was sooooo happy!

What we got the first visit:
    – Paulaner beer
    – nachos supreme
    – 20 BBQ wings with hot sauce on the side
    – fried cheesecake with vanilla icecream topped with caramel drizzle
    -molten lava cake

Everything was super delicious and how I dreamt it would be!  Our waitress was bombs. She was in charge of decorating the dessert that day…I think she was new. Lol. But she was awesome.

    2nd visit we got:
    – piccadilly chili – with melted cheddar and scallions
    – 20 bbq wings with hot sauce on the side
    – croxley burger with string beans on the side
    – french fries
    – hoeegarden muscles with garlic broth. OMGGGG

The 2nd visit topped my entire experience there. I was in heaven!  Do try this place out. Place can get pretty loud because games are on. But hey, you're at a bar…

  3. Not impressed. I'm used to the much larger locations (Smithtown is my fav, Rockville centre is OK) so I was shocked to walk in to see it's smaller than your local pub. Very small, cramped and loud blaring music. It was difficult to hold a conversation.

Our 20 minute wait turned into about 40, which we spent outside inhaling massively unhealthy amounts of second hand smoke. Finally we got inside and seated! Our waitress started off ok.

We ordered wings and sweet potato fries, the wings were small and over cooked, I guess for 30 cents I can't really complain. — The Monday & Wednesday wing special is 20c/boneless, 30c/classic with a $5 drink minimum. — The sweet potato fries were actually pretty good, but the sauce it came with was vomit-worthy.

The waitress then forgot about us after giving us the check. My friend and I literally joked about dining-and-dashing, if we weren't honest people that's exactly what would have happened and nobody would have noticed. We even attempted to give the check to the hostess when she returned to her stand but she couldn't be bothered with taking our money — instead she just shook her head "no".

    I wouldn't come back here.

  4. I've review the Croxley's in Farmingdale because it's my favorite location due to parking, interior space, and usually never a wait…but this location is just okay.

My sister visited this location a week or two ago, since she just turned 21 and had never been to a Croxley's. Parking is also a hassle. It was almost impossible to find parking. We ended up parking two or three blocks down and pay extra attention to the street signs.

The wings and nachos were great, but this location is very small and there was a wait… And due to the small size, the TV and music is extra loud. I can't imagine coming here during game day.

Also, I wasn't impressed with the beer and cider menu at all. While they were always known for their large variety of beers in tap, I saw more commercial beer than local craft beer, they only have two ciders (which are commercial and not the greatest, in my opinion) and they only offer one gluten-free beer, which is priced higher than other bars and also the worst one in the market. I ended up ordering a red wine with my wings because of this, which even the server laughed at my alcohol order… And I didn't blame her. Wings, nachos, and wine at a place known for "craft beer"?

  5. Things have not improved since my last review 3 years ago.

What happened???  This was a weekly staple on mine.

Stopped by last night for a quick bite.  The place was empty, though it is the summer not everyone wants to sit in a dark bar.

First thing I noticed, the beer menu.  Alot of the old faithful favorite staples were gone.

Second…we wait forever to place our order, keep in mind its not packed or busy, I would say less then half capacity.  We wait and wait, our waitress says the kitchen is backed up.  We wait some more, part of the order shows up.  Then the wings show up and they were old stale, covered in sauce and cold.  Then our appetizer showed up again, which we had already received earlier.

Third- the bill…..jezz louise.  2 beers, 8 bbq wings, 12 hot wings and irish nachos…. almost 60 bucks.

The finale…..sick as a dog this morning.

This may have been the last hurrah croxleys =(

  6. An institution that has not lost sight of what has made them great.  They continue to provide the best beer list in the area and turn out quality food.  The wings are second to none (especially if you order them extra crispy).  You cannot beat the specials (if you can get a spot).  The rest of the menu is excellent too.  The burgers and sandwiches are usually something we get too.  The beer list is overwhelming but don't be afraid to ask for suggestions.  I recently began sitting down at the bar and have only really started noticing how nice the bar truly is.  Ye its a little small and in the summer you wished they had outdoor seating.  But if you get a spot at the bar, well you won't be complaining.  Looking forward to my next beer.

  7. I came here with my coworkers after work one day and I enjoyed myself. They had nice staff and the food was good. I enjoyed my stella beer as well. Nice and cold. It wasnt too crowded where I didnt enjoy myself and also it was too empty. It was perfect which I liked.

  8. Not the worst food I've had but so completely generically average that I don't feel it should even get an average rating; if that makes sense. You can get the same quality, quantity and service at Applebee's, Friday's, Chilis…

The "Chips" of fish & chips were really regular old fries. Even though on the menu they are literally in quotation marks "CHIPS" and even though when I asked the waitress who assured me they were the "you know, like, the big French fries" yes, I still got fries.

The wings came in a soup of cheap hot sauce. They were over fried or more likely fried several times. And I hate to bring this up but I got very very ill that night. I do not have hard proof that it was from their food but instincts tell me that it was.

They do have a craft-ish beer menu that might impress someone who just started drinking craft beer.

Long Island at its most average.
