  1. Surprised I haven't reviewed here yet.  I've been here for dinner a few times, but that was a long time ago, so my review will mostly be for my latest visit.

Great decor, warm atmosphere. We came around 4 on a Tuesday, on a whim, and was pleasantly surprised to find a happy hour with free food! We sat at the bar and enjoyed a glass of wine. I checked out the free buffet and found cut up grilled cheeses, chicken wings, olives, some dips with bread, and veggies. Decent food for sure.

I really liked this place and would like to go back for happy hour again, so I will update my review if needed.

  2. Had a bottle of wine and sat outside on a random weekday with my sis.  Great service and a great price for a bottle of La Crema Chardonnay 🙂

  3. Stopped by on a Sunday night around 830. They have live music most nights, and tonight had a fiddle player and acoustic guitar player. The music wasn't too loud, which is a problem in some places.
The vibe reminds me of a 100 year old pub, which was kind of cool. There is a mixture of sophisticated and local crowd.
There's a few tables outside for when the weather is nice, and a large dining room in the back.
There is one small TV , so this is not the place to watch the game. That's ok, as this place is not trying to be a sports bar.
The prices seem very reasonable. I wanted a snack so I ordered 6 buffalo wings for $5. Wings are hit or miss at s lot of places, but here they were quite good. There's a very good selection of wines and beers as well.
Staff was friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be back.

  4. I've been here a few times for wine and small plates.  It's walking distance from the train station and a good place to grab a drink and some eats before heading home or for a night out.  In the summer you can sit outdoors and share a bottle over a long dinner.  Prices are typical for Westfield.  They also have a happy hour with small bites Tuesday to Friday from 4:30-6pm.

I am a fan of their pizzas with a glass of Pinot Noir.  My husband, a wing connoisseur, is a fan of their wings. Good food and drinks.  Friendly service.

  5. Went here with a party of six on a Saturday night.  The place was crowded which to me is usually a good sign.  We had a reservation and were seated at a very cramped table with barely enough elbow room to sit comfortably let alone eat.

The food was okay.  Not great.  The hanger steak was cooked perfectly, however when my meal was brought to the table by the runners, the sides were cold.  Not room temp. Cold.  In retrospect, our entrees did take a little while to come out.

Our waiter was very friendly and funny so that's what earned them their seconds star.

This is one of those places where you go to try it out but don't return.

  6. It's hard to give a place a decent review when the service is subpar. We were promptly greeted and seated (we had a reservation) however our server barely acknowledged us throughout the evening.

We took it upon our selfs to refill the water jug on our table. On top of that our food took over an hour to come with no explanation.

Our server didn't seem to even care that it was close to 9:30 at night and our food was not out.

The food has a really nice presentation and was pretty good. The ravioli, Mac and Cheese and English Muffin burger are all great options.

It wasn't until he brought the check out that he mentioned something about the computer going down (which shouldn't impact the kitchen) and honestly the explanation was a little late.

  7. This place was pretty cool. It was a nice venue. We sat at the bar, and the bartender was very attentive. We went on a Saturday night, and the live band was excellent. I had dinner, desserts, and drinks. The drinks were pretty average. More alcohol could have been used in the cocktails. I had the caramel lava  cake; however, all I could taste was the chocolate. Sadly, I do not even recall what I had for dinner, which means it was not bad, but it was not memorable either. Overall this place was decent. There are a few more places to try in Westfield before I consider returning.

  8. A second visit might yield more stars.

Plusses:Nice staff; very good service. Nice atmosphere. Live music some or all nights.

Extensive wine and beer lists at reasonable prices. Has been here for quite a few years, so clearly pleases many people. Broad menu. Saw free happy hour appetizers.

Minuses: This trip was to try it out during Westfield Restaurant Week.  Portions were small for even the modest cost, as is often the case with places focused on alcohol sales and patrons who want a few drinks and just a little bit to eat.

Taste was just ok–not bad, but not good or unusual enough to inspire me to come back vs the good BYO places in town without a special deal, a friend strongly suggesting it, or a singer I recognize.

Many restaurants struggle with the Restaurant Week concept–it requires them to decide how to reward diners for coming out on normally slow weeknights or for trying them out for the first time without suffering losses. I hope a regular meal would yield a better result for me.
