  1. The food here was AMAZING!
My friend and I shared three special rolls (Couple's Roll, Dawn, and Yuki) and the Seafood Garlic Udon.
The sushi was so fresh I wanted more after eating three rolls. My favorite of the three were the Couple's Roll and the Dawn. The Couple's Roll had a crunchy texture while the Dawn was pure refreshing deliciousness. Yuki was great as well – you'd love it if you like spicy.
Last but not least, the Seafood Garlic Udon was a cream-based noodle dish made with cooked salmon, shrimp, and scallops, different from the typical seafood combination. The portion seemed small at first glance but trust me, it's enough to fill you. I was beyond stuffed.
I would definitely recommend this place.

P.S. Please bring this yumminess to Brooklyn!!

  2. Raphael is a wonderful, friendly and informative server. Shumai is hot and flavorful. Edamame is steamed perfectly. Seafood with noodles and garlic sauce is flavored just right. We shared as an appetizer but can certainly be a entree.

They have choice of sake and we all found our favorites.

Salmon sashimi had no tough pieces and was smooth and flavorful. All rolls were exactly as described.

Bimibao bowl was great. New addition to our culinary repertoire.

New sushi joint in town now that Sato closed. Would definitely return.

  3. The renovation, for what used to be the old Chikurin, looks great. There is a cozy, comfortable vibe as soon as you step foot into this small restaurant. Love the high top seating on the side. Service is friendly from the start. Ordered a few items, including special rolls, to try.

Spicy salmon roll – good, spicy, fresh but wish there wasn't so much rice! At least the rice was freshly made.

Couple roll – didn't look like the other couple roll in photos posted but okay. Looked like a pink lady roll but doesn't taste too bad.

Salmon fans roll – good and exactly what salmon lovers will like.

Chidori roll – wanted to try their house brand roll and it wasn't bad!

Overall everything was good. Chidori has a lot of potential. The fish is fresh – they just need to roll less rice with it! Service is great and very accommodating. I like that they ask you if you want ice or no ice with your water. Wasn't pleased that the water glass already had someone else's lip stain on it. I figured it was still in opening stages and they were figuring things out. You can tell the sushi chefs are still learning the ropes since they had to ask each other about the special rolls. They offer brown rice for their rolls.

  4. Chidori opened just recently, but it's off to a great start! Very friendly staff, tasteful interior and most importantly, great food! To kick things off, the owner offered us a crab salad with tempura pieces and spicy mayo on the house. It sounds like a simple dish but it tasted amazing. For my main order, I had a chance to try the salmon sashimi and salmon + avocado roll and was VERY pleased. They were incredibly generous with the fresh salmon slices and the sushi had a good rice to salmon proportion.

I also got the try their ramen, which is technically off the menu, but they'd be more than happy to make it for you! I wouldn't say the ramen was perfect and there is definitely room for improvement. But it's still decent – tasty broth, well-cooked toppings, great noodles. They're still new so I can see them improving on this as they get more feedback.

I walked in Chidori without any expectations other than to satisfy my Japanese food cravings but I got so much more. For the food they offer and the price point, this restaurant deserves all the recognition they can get. Do consider paying them a visit the next time you feel like getting some quality Japanese food!
