Bayridge Sushi
“I've done AYCE sushi at other places that had a more extensive menu, maybe it was because it was around lunch.”
“I like how the place looks, it is very stylish and looks new.”
“I am actually surprised that they aren't charging more simply because of their new environment!”

Decent sushi restaurant in the area 🙂 Their food is very consistent and I can order a whole bunch of things and not a single order will go wrong. The staffs are very polite and patient as well. This restaurant has became a lot classier then it used to be, which is a good thing. I've came here with my family a couple of time for dinner and they had a great time. They said the fish was fresh and everything was tasty. They also have an AYCE menu; however, I've never tried it myself. My cousins said it was good and there are a lot of varieties of rolls, which is always a plus. Since this restaurant is only a block from where I live, my family likes coming here when they are feeling fancy for the night or when they're craving sushi.
Pretty nice sushi restaurant that has always served fresh average sushi. Great place for a solid lunch or dinner. Just nothing great but ok for sure.
Bay ridge sushi has been that neighborhood sushi spot where I go to because it's conveniently located nearby. Nothing is ever that amazing (don't expect it to be) but I've eaten here about 3 times now and yesterday will be the last time I will ever eat their food again.
Went with the boyfriend because of a sudden sushi craving and returned home with STOMACH POISONING.
We ordered several pieces of sushi and noticed the salmon roe was completely off. It tasted rotten and when we notified the waitress and she said she would check with the chef. Supposedly their salmon roe supply just arrived that very morning. Now I don't care if it was the fault of the supplier, the chef not being clean with the food, or the management for allowing this very obviously rotten food to be served but never again. Can never be careful enough with ingesting raw food of any kind. Plus, the rice they use always tastes old and is too hard (most likely is old rice that's been refridgerated and then reheated).
Came here on a Monday night for some all you can eat sushi. First look at the menu and I wanted to leave already. They have the MOST limited options for AYCE sushi that I've ever seen anywhere. Salmon avocado wasn't even an option, and there were only a few "special" rolls offered. Everything else was the regular stuff. There was no salad, gyoza, or any of the usual appetizer items that EVERY SINGLE AYCE place I've ever been to has offered.
Then I thought, maybe they do sushi really well since they offer so such a limited menu, so I stayed and ordered.
No. Just no. The rolls that came didn't look fresh at all. The texture of the fish was not smooth at all. Like maybe they froze it too fast or too many times? They did not use the correct rice and the rice wasn't flavored enough. The rice didn't stay together so the sushi kept breaking apart, and there was way too much rice.
We ordered a spider roll and the crab was soggy. Gross. The crab stick in the kani sushi from the a la carte menu was not defrosted enough. Inside was still a little frozen.
And going back a little, when the waitress first came by to see what drinks we wanted and whether we wanted to soup or salad, I asked for both, but she said I could only get 1 even though the menu for AYCE menu at the top very clearly says "$21.95 per person served with soup & salad". So I guess that is just some blatantly false advertising.
It was fairly empty when my group came here, and now I know why. The only good thing about this place is that the napkins they give are so thick and soft, which is surprising given the quality of the food here. There are so many cheaper sushi options in Brooklyn that taste so much better.
Bay Ridge Sushi is a little hole in the wall tucked away on an unassuming street with a lot of other unremarkable businesses like delis and hardware stores. The first time I came I loved the coconut sake-tini, but it wasn't great when I returned. They add toasted coconut which is a nice touch, but the flavor was off the second time.
I think their rolls are good and fresh, and they have some interesting concoctions with mango and banana that of course cost a bit more.
I had a salmon skin salad which was a bit too fishy for me.
It's pretty casual which is nice, and not very crowded either Saturday I was there. Nice sushi bar space as well.
When I first went with a group of people they gave us dessert-fried ice cream an banana on the house!
Great sushi. Ordered dinner there and it was delivered quick and food tasted fresh.
Tiger roll was fantastic.
Lunch is such a steal especially for the area. The dinner prices are okay. There isn't any food item that I find amazing. I would never make the trip out to Bayridge just for the food at this restaurant. That being said, I never had a bad experience here. Safe place to go.
I've been to this spot a coupe of times and they have a good selection of sushi. It is slightly more expensive than other sushi spots in brooklyn tho. The environment is pretty trendy and they don't rush you to finish your meal quickly. The boss lady is also very nice. If you have the chance, try the avocado peanut roll because it is tasty!
