the decor is the best part of this place. the food overall is meh. i had the worst pad thai of my life from red plum… it didn't even taste like pad thai! it was just disgusting! i couldn't eat it. you might as well just go to Tokyo Sushi next door b/c it's owned by the same people and it's only Japanese (which is their strong point) rather than the crappola fusion at this place. if you're going to do fusion.. do it right!
but if you want /excellent/ fusion food try Ginban down the street… AMAZING!
ahhh, maybe 3.5.
wasnt blown away, but i dont feel sick!
they have a pretty cool front porch, good for people watching, that is, if there isnt a hurricane happening.
prices are indicative for the area. i had two tuna maki and a sweet potato, 12 bucks, could be worse. comes with miso (didnt eat) and salad (ha!) the tea tasted way off, maybe its a ny thing…
oh and service was lacking, no check in, not that i couldnt get all nu yawkie and loud if i needed too. HEY! I EATTIN OVA HERA
i was recommended red plum, am i recommending it to you? sure, there are a zillion food eateries on mam k ave, so use your palate wisely
Solid sushi spot! They have really great fresh king salmon sashimi, which is my ultimate favorite. I have yet to find a place around with better king salmon. Their specialty rolls are also really good. I love the Naruto roll, the Alaska beauty and Black dragon. Well, I mean, I could eat any of their specialty rolls, but those are some of my favorites. The coconut fish soup is a must try. It is very filling so maybe order to share, or not too much food after. The location in White Plains does not have plum wine by the glass (gasp!!!! :0 ), but the Mamaroneck location does!! The service is very friendly and attentive. Oh yea, I have never had it before, but they do also have hibachi tables towards the back. Looks good!
