Great place to go as they offer so much and sure to please everyone in the family. They offer Chinese, Thai, sushi and more. Gluten free no problem just tell them and they will make it. Not in the mood for sushi, Thai, Chinese or Japanese food? A plain piece of fish is what you are craving? The Sea bass and Salmon are excellent. Thai is not a favorite of mine so I have never tried it here. They are so accommodating and nice. Beautiful views of the water. This place is very enjoyable, reasonable and ByoB. Great for groups just make a reservation.
Owner is always there making sure everything is done right. He is such a good person. During hurricane Sandy he helped so many people by donating food to the high school where the storm shelter was.
Great sushi with wonderful ocean view. The green tea was tasty and refreshing. These rolls are seriously thick. Most rolls will take two bites or else you may look a little rude. The black dragon roll has eal on the inside and on top for an amazing sushi sandwich. Get excited.
My fellow yelpers have let me down. I called on Mother's Day for a reservation for 6 people. No problem but outdoor seating was not available, which was one of the bigger reasons we chose Nemo. When we arrived we were promptly seated. There were clearly tables open outside but we figured they were reserved. We sat for a while before one of only two servers came to take our drink order. Another 15 minutes passed before anyone came back with the drinks and to take our order. After that it was probably a good 20 minutes before we got our appetizer. At this point the tables outside were still open and many people were leaving. We asked again to sit outside and all of a sudden a table was free.
Our party ordered some sashimi and some Chinese food. The sashimi was underwhelming and the slices were cut thick and sloppy. The Chinese food was better but not the best.
Service was slow and inattentive. Food was mediocre. The best part of this place was the outdoor dining and even that was flawed by the power line hanging low overhead and trash cans in the lot below. I could not recommend this place.
Unfortunately, over this past year Nemo has taken down turn in both quality of food and service. They are not bad mind you but are no longer the lofty 5 stars they use to be.
Bottom line: We will still go here on occasion but not as often as we use to. To that end they will be removed from my Best of the best list as well.
Keyport was the central meeting spot for our group of 6 and so when we struck out at one reservation we made one at Nemo. Everyone agreed, a great meal and fun time. Having been there several times, we gave a few recommendations but you really can't go wrong with any choices on the diverse menu.
Started with different appetizers and shared everything. A couple orders of those wonderful duck spring rolls hit the spot, tender moist duck in a crispy wrapper with a couple of delicious sauces to dip in. The steamed dumplings here are very good, very tender and loaded with pork filling. Also had a Volcano roll, which was tuna, salmon, lobster salad with a jalapeno spicy sauce. Presentation was great and tasted even better.
Entrees were every bit as good. A couple orders of wok grilled garlic shrimp combined roasted garlic, scallions, red onion, bok choy, pineapple and mushrooms. Had a taste and it was yummy. Sliced chicken with Thai basil may sound simple but the flavors of this dish really burst through, another winner. A sushi deluxe platter was 10 pristine pieces of fish along with a California roll and was given a big thumbs up. Last two entrees were casseroles which came out sizzling, the aroma alone sold both of these. Thai casserole is Thai red curry, lemongrass coconut Thai basis, string beans, chicken and shrimp. Firewok was shrimp, lobster tail scallops, lemongrass and Thai curry. Both were excellent.
Oriental food makes for some interesting and fun beverage combinations, we had beer, pinot noir and Riesling, guess that covers everything :). Too full for dessert, maybe next time.
The chef at Nemo, I believe his name is Lee is very talented, don't expect goopy apps or entrees you get at many Oriental places, at Nemo the flavors shine through. Service was excellent, Stephen and another server took good care of us all evening.
